sony xperia u or sony ericsson xperia ray?

Right off the assembly line
guys i have to buy a phone this week.i've sorted out two phones.the xperia u and ericcson xperia ray.
could you suggest me which one i should go for?

the U has no memory card slot and the ray is not supported by sony anymore,also ray has 3.3 inch display compared to 3.5 of xperia u.
also the dual core issue-U has it ,ray doesn't.

im really confused about these two.help me out

Agreed it has official jellybean but for 15k you get adreno 200 GPU and 1 ghz single core cpu.. thats soo last gen


OP, if brand value does not matter.. then id suggest waiting for Micromax a116.. you need to do a bit of research before buying tho because there's a large possiblity it could be a craphone

between xperia j and xperia sola, sola is certainly better. But Sony has refused to update it to Jellybean. So, i think, u should look at some other options!

totally agree, xperia j is outdated for the cost and should be priced around 10k to justify the specs. my friend has it, cam quality is really bad and UI is not snappy either.

@OP--In that price, Huawei Ascend G600 looks to be better for your requirements specswise.

Go for Xperia U...I'm using it from the last three months without any problem. And Android 4.0 compatibility is another plus point :)

I suggesting him J because it is better than U and ray.If OP finds Sola to be nice then he can buy that, it is better than those two.

Xperia U is good with dual core processor and Mali 400 GPU with awesome UI.Only negative is the lack of sd Card Support.though you can connect pen drive to it through OTG cable which costs 400 rs i guess.Sola and J are of no use.I also want to buy a mobile and that's why i will not suggest you Sola and J.
Motorola Atrix 2 is good but they are stopping their services in INDIA and this is a very big negative point.

I am thinking of buying Xperia U myself but I can't carry pendrive and otg cable always with me and so i removed it from my Shortlisted mobile phone list.
G600 is also a good option but i don't know about its performance.I also like it .If anyone on the forum bought Huawei G600 please help flawed and me.

you mean the ages old adreno200 & a single core cortexA5 on Xperia J is better than the mali400 & a dual core A9 combo on xperia U?? what makes you think that:rofl:. no one here is going to agree on this part i guess. xperia U is far better than J. there are something called benchmarks, please have a look at them.

Hmmm aroraanant, J is worse than U and Ray both. Not only performance wise, but also camera is worse on the J. Only positives about the J are the design, Android 4.1 update and the screen. Nothing else is good.

same spec as One S & Xperia S. Cannot record videos above 480p but that must be limited by software as chipset allows 1080p video record.

I would agree to everything you said except that Sola is better than U because of SD card support and floating touch support and it only costs 2k extra

Also do note that the dual core processor (U8500 in sola and U) arent as powerful as a real dual core (like Galaxy Nexus for example).. they come close to the micromax 110 chipset

I haven't said that Sola is better than U ,U is the Best in its category.Sola ,J,GO,MIRO are all crap products from SONY.Xperia U is very good and if someone can carry OTG cable with him ,he should go with XPERIA U EYES CLOSED.

^ So why are you saying Sola is crap then ? Sola has everything U has to offer (except Front cam)+ MicroSD + Floating Touch for only 1kmore... Also it has 3.7 inch screen vs 3.5..
Would you prefer to carry an OTG always or would you prefer to just push in a microsd card ?
Got me confused :/

No secondary camera in Xperia Sola.
Flawed already mentioned above about the secondary camera (see above comments).
Also its battery performance is not so good in comparison with U and Less PPI in Sola than U.

Sorry for confusing you friend.Sola is good if it has above 2 things in that price range i.e. 15k +.Even 7k phone now has that.
I really doubt Sony's marketing strategy.

I'd go for U. If you don't mind lack of SD card, U>Sola, really fine display and battery as the guy above me mentioned.
