No Android phone has very good battery life.

Go with any of your choices (O1 or Ace), you won't be disappointed.

If you enable 3G, any phone would discharge quickly. You would get 6 hours at the most.

But with moderate use and power management, switching off 3G and Wifi when not in use... you can easily get 1.5 days or more of usage from a single charge.

For 15k, Galaxy Ace (video) is excellent.

LG Optimus One is not bad either... Full paisa vasool phone... but slightly smaller and slower than Ace...

Thanks Amalek,
1.5 with moderate usage sounds good..

I heard that ace is nice bt reviews are not that great (Source CNET) and processor is better than O1 but ram is low. so doesnt really make sense
Correct me if im wrong ?

Believe Me or Not!!!
^^^ The amount of RAM is just fine.
A powerful CPU is always better than more RAM.

@Amalek
Are you sure that Ace would last 1.5 days with moderate usage?

Ace definately is a better fone than O1 .... but not by a lot ...

Ace over O1 - slightly bigger screen (3.5in over 3.2in), faster processor ( 800mhz over 600mhz), better camera (5mp vs 3mp... but to be honest, both cameras suck real bad... horrible video recording and very average snaps)

O1 over ace - bigger battery (1500mAh over 1350), price (12k vs 15k)

Note that both use the same chipset MSM7227 ... and u can push the O1 up to 729mhz without any issues .. it needs to be seen if the MSM7227 on the Ace can can clocked beyond 800mhz ...

So in my opinion, the only differentiating factors are the screen (in favour of Ace) vs the price (in favour of O1) ....

^^ Proc on both the cells are the same. Ace has an overclocked version of the proc on O1. Both are great phones and perform similar to each other. Ace has larger screen and better looks thats all. Overclocking would mean lesser battery than that of O1.
And i also doubt Ace would last 1.5 days with moderate usage.. But u gotta define ur moderate usage first before anyone can say anything.

ace!ace!ace! go for it
but if you can raise your cap to 19.5k have a look at samsung Galaxy S LCD (GT-I9003).this phone has superb specs.this phone is basically galaxy s-amoled screen, and galaxy s costs 28k so this makes gt-19003 the best bargain.....preorder at flipkart

Galaxy sl has bigger battery and for 19k it a total vfm purchase right now. For update part, galaxy s is going to get gingerbread, couldn't comment on galaxy sl right now. For o1, lg said that it will receive at least 1 update bt don't know when we will get it

I am not sure about Ace battery life. An iPhone 3Gs lasts 1.5 days with moderate use. Ace is a copy of that phone...

But it would be better to wait a while for review to come in before getting any phone.

most will. if not from their manufacturer, from XDA. also the roms that manufacturers released can be tweaked further to get more performance (& battery life) out of it. also most stock rom or updated rom ships with bloatwares, better rely on (well tested) custom roms only.

more talk time doesn't means better battery life. cause if you use the mobile, the screen will be on & will take a toll on battery. bigger screen + faster net = faster the battery drains.

^^ yeah... u would probably have to charge Galaxy SL every night. With bloatware and huge amoled screen, Galaxy S users complans abt battery life. Now same size SLCD will take up even more battery. Though, its a less powerful chipset, its still running 1 GHz and Android. Dont expect more than a day from it. :(
Galaxy S is getting the Gingerbread upgrade very soon. SL, being right after the prior in terms of samsung flagships(untill Galaxy S II hits makets)... should get Gingerbread at some point. If they dont, u can always try to find a good rom for it on XDA forums.(Hopefully they wont leave out this phone :))

Nice to know man, thanks. But is it easy to custom mod it? Im sure there is a risk of Brick-in ur phone right?

True true bigger screen= more battery drainage
But honestly im still thinking of buyin O1
I mean its VFM full on. and will get ginger bread+ If i spend 20k i would think so many times before custom modding it.
with 11.5k i can be a bit free mind.
Jus my thoughts bt fully agreed all of u who have commented.
Thanks

LG has confirmed Gingerbread update for the O1 but don't be surprised if they back-out later. For Ace, it is highly doubtful.

and galaxy 3 is still running 2.1......ace's update doubtful
