1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Graphics work with 3dsMax, Maya, after effects.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:50-60k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Xp/w7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 750gb-1tb

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: 18.5 - 22

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: No. all to be bought

Ans: immediately. in 4-5days

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:assembler

Ans: Was going for dell workstation as it is meant for my friend. since he doesnt know about these, i dont want to take the pain if something goes wrong. but the price varies from dell india site to local market. thats why i suggested to assemble.
He wont do 24*7 work with it but occasionally.

for a xeon based pc the config will change totally. Also xeon cpus are for servers why do you want to use a xeon pc for 3d rendering? unless you have a xeon pc farm?

H77 chipset+ unlocked processor is a wrong choice. A z68, p67 or z77 is suited to unlocked processor. No point in going with unlocked processor with h77, h67 or h61 board.

Since OP is not gonna OC, so he should go for i7 2600 + asus p8h77-m combo. No need to go for a bulldozer or unlocked SNB or IVB.

Since you wont be gaming a professional graphics is suited for your needs.

I dont think nzxt cabinets are available in orissa.You have to order it online(try mdcomputers.in).Same goes with corsair cx430v2.

buy a cooler master gx 450W or Seasonic 620W PSU.

Corsair CX 430 V2 is going to FAIL with your requirements...

rest everything suggested by vkl is spot on...

buddy can u explain as to why cx430v2 wont be able to handle the above config?

The graphic card (firepro v4800) is rated at less than 75W.

finally got the thing assembled. it is for one of my friend. funny thing is the vendor(nigam computer, bhubaneswar, odisha) asked what is this "CORSAIR SSD FORCE 3 SERIES 120GB"???? What's its use? :lol:
and asked is benq monitor any good?
