Legen-wait for it-dary!
^^ True...

*msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd285359.aspx

It actually makes sense, so it might not be crawlsys after all, though how effective it would be remains to be seen. Perhaps MS would demonstrate with a sample video.

^^ the sample videos may be tricky unless it shows some rendering details on how they manage to cramp that heavy duty work of a GPU to a simple 3Ghz processor, and BTW i r gonna test this thing via the pre-beta release build 68xx by this weekend.

It's nice news, but even the Core i7 965 Extreme scores a pthetic 7.xx frames, at 800x600 and medium settings. It just manages to beat Intel's IGP.

Well, i downloaded a prebeta version via torrent, but will i be able to install it? coz it show the setup as of vista but only name changed

That's what they assumed when they launched Vista. But I'm really hoping Windows 7 will be worthy of being my primary OS. :-|
I guess MS didnt expect XP to quickly adapt to new hardware, leading to a lukewarm reception for Vista. I mean, 2 GB RAM and 8800GT can run with greater effectiveness on XP than on Vista.
Looks like Windows 7 attempts to fix this. :D
