This week, Microsoft unveiled one of Windows 7’s new features, which will allow games and other DirectX 10 and 10.1-based applications to run fully accelerated on obsolete graphics hardware, and even on systems with no graphics acceleration at all.

but that means great news for other games not as demanding as crysis.people would be able to play fifa, pes or cricket series long after their cards become obsolete

Linux all the way
the feature uses your cpu power to work like graphics card, so its not that efficient as graphics card. you'll get just a few fps even on the latest graphics card, leave the world of high resolution to discuss.

gaming in Windows 7 is better than in Vista.NFS Undercover runs smoothly without any probs in Windows 7 but in Vista the fps drops randomly

99.9% Idle
 I'm confused. This comes into rescue only when our onboard graphics or dedicated GPU card fails and when this happens the port(analog/dvi) which takes the video signals to our monitor also would be rendered useless I guess. In that case how do we get our monitor connected to the cpu without a GPU unit?
