Depends on which graphics card you are planning to buy in future.

BTW personally I'd suggest Corsair 450VX, many would say it'd be a overkill, they are correct, but in the same time, it saves us from little bit of future upgrade tensions. :)

Better get Corsair GS600 @ 4k and forget about future upgrade tensions.

what about these ;-)

SeaSonic S12II 430W @ 3k or

SeaSonic SS-500ES 500W @ 3.2k.

@ OP - Corsair VX450W is 3.4k.

Budget is tight at 3k. Availability of Seasonic might be an issue. And VX450 is closer to 4k as stated by OP.

CX-430, CX-500 and CX-600 are of the same series. So, if its advised to stay away from CX-430 then one should probably also stay away from the other two also.
For around 3k my suggestion would be:
* FSP SAGAII 500W -- 2.1k
* Corsair CX-400 -- 2.6k
* Tagan StoneRock 500W -- 3.1k

VX450W is available at 3.4 on the theitwares and all the seasonic PSUs are there as well ;-)
