Go for Galaxy s2 it much better,but wait for a samsung official statement for official jellybean update, if not always one can use cyanogenmod custom roms
First make clear about your needs or likes
If you want latest software updates,nothing beat a Nexus device on Android platform. As far as i know sony update policy is ok,but make sure you get ics and even jelly bean
Jelly bean is pipeline, None of the devices got it a part from nexus devices,wait for sony's official statement to see whether xperia p will be upgraded to JB aka 4.1 or not.
I request you wait and buy a phone which is Jelly bean upgradable
I hope you know about Jelly bean update,it has Butter like smoothness comparable to ios ,

May be galaxy s2 is a better idea but am not gonna chose samsung over sony ericsson at any cost as brand does matter to me. Leaving arc s, my focus is fixed on xperia p or xperia go. Which on should I go for? Price is not a priority but am focusing on features and style.

Thanx buddy 4 the information but in my case, am addicted to sony ericsson. I wont loose it for an OS upgradation which is easily available to other phones! am even open to use custome rom if it become necessery. Will be buying phone within upcoming few months, got plenty of time to decide over xperia p and xperia go, please do share ur thought

Xperia P no doubt. I don't see any reason why you should even consider the Go. It has much lower screen resolution, worse camera, not so great screen, and overall is nothing special apart from being tough.

Xperia P is obviously better than Arc S.
As you are planning to buy the phone in a month or so, Xpeira S will get a price cut too in that time and it should be available for around 25k
