And another problem has cropped up.I have ubuntu and hence Firefox as a browser.the problem is that Firefox doesn't connect to net.even GAIM(IM utility) doesn't connect to net.
I went to Networking and tried to ping www.yahoo.com, which it sucessufully did.
then, on advice of JGuru I went to the folder '/usr/share/applications' and click on "Networking'.
then Clicked on the tab 'Hosts'. then on 'Add' button.
This opens a dialog-box 'Hosts alias Settings' .
and typed this :
IP address : 130.94.75.250
Aliases : www.thinkdigit.com
Clicked the 'OK' button, Clicked 'OK' again to close the
'Networking' window.this time FireFox worked without any problems.
However, it's impossible to browse this way, Looking for IP addresses of every server that hosts files reqd for the page.and i can't do anything that requires internet.this includes synaptic package manager.
I have MTNL 590NU package. 256Kbps broadband connection, through DSL router.
