I guess windows tablet deserves a thread of it's own. Quick info about windows 8 tablets

Windows tablets will run two flavors of Windows

Windows RT and Windows 8 Pro

Win RT
It will officially only run software available through the Windows Store or included in Windows RT including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote as standard. Microsoft will sell the operating system only to device manufacturers directly, and not as a stand-alone product to consumers. The name Windows RT was announced on April 16, 2012.


Windows 8 Pro
Windows 8 Pro succeeds Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate and is targeted towards enthusiasts and business users; it includes all the features of Windows 8. Additional features include operating as a Remote Desktop server, the ability to participate in a Windows Server domain, Encrypting File System, Hyper-V, and Virtual Hard Disk Booting, Group Policy as well as BitLocker and BitLocker To Go. Windows Media Center functionality will be available only for Windows 8 Pro, as a free "add-on."

Microsoft also enters the Tablet market with it's Surface Tablet..

I cant take this much all at once. its like wow , for me. coz its windows 8 pro.

I like windows tile UI and would wait for these Windows 8 tabs to settle down.....50k for a tab is just too much..at 30k price range it will work.

@kool just buy a super cheap android tab for now...and have fun for at least 1 yr...untill that the price of Windows 8 will settle down..

These will be launching only After October 26th as Windows 8 launches then. By the looks of it Tablet market is going to be flooded with these devices.. most major manufacturers have come up with atleast one Windows based tablet.

50k!!!!, we can get ipad 3 64 GB Wifi+4G for that price. I somehow don't think MS Partners can dare pricing any tablet near to market leader, iPad.

then there is Core i5, Atom powered Tablets. Core i5 Tablet specs sounds more like netbook, 4 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, 8 Hours battery life, Full Scale Windows 8.

What you guys need to notice is some of the Tablets are Hybrid.. Which runs full windows 8. iPad can only be compared with Windows RT based tablets.
