The incident in chronological manner:

Rashi peripherals offers 3 years Replacement Warranty on every ASUS graphic cards.

I've bought a ASUS GTX 580 1.5GB GDDR5 graphics card on 4th January 2011 from Arihant Infotech.

4th April 2011 - There was no display coming out of the graphic card so I sent it for RMA on 7th April 2011.

After verifying and testing the card throughly their service engineer told me that the card is bad and I will get a replacement for the card and Rashi peripherals accepted it for RMA. They told me to inquire on 12th April 2011.

11th April 2011 - I called up & Mr. Shambu Das said it's in processing call on 18th April 2011.

18th April 2011 - I called up & Mr. Shambu Das said it's in processing. He will inform me in a Day or Two.

20th April 2011 - Since I got no call I called up in the afternoon & Mr. Shambu Das said it's in processing. He will inform me in the evening if he can give another brands card.

21st April 2011 - Since I got no call on 20th evening I called up & Mr. Shambu Das said it's in processing & no other brand is available & ASUS isn't in stock & it will take 2-3 weeks more.

The card is still in Rashi's Kolkata Service Center.

5 weeks for a simple replacement is unacceptable in my opinion.

That's why i always say to my friends don't buy any product that distributed by Rashi Peripheral.I got my card replaced by lots of fighting with the Rashi guys.It safe bet to ignore Rashi.

Finally after exactly one month of torturous waiting I got a ASUS GTX 580 DirectCU II 1.5GB GDDR5 graphics card as a replacement on 4th May.

I'm happy but when I think that MSI, Zotac, Sapphire or Gigabyte would've done the same in 7-10 days I'm angry.

My final opinion is that Rashi has to improve exponentially.

BTW, that's a Lian-Li cabinet I guess. Which Model?

Ya it makes up but still that is no excuse to not improve in my opinion.

Here is my Experience with Rashi Back in 2008 i don't have the RMA slip now but i had a XFX 8500gt the problem with that was if i played any game for 15 minutes the comp. crashes i used to play COD4, Crysis, Lostplanet etc those days so i checked the GPU in my friends comp. so i send the card for RMA through the Local seller it was sent to Guwahati service center in ASSAM after 7-10 days i received after putting continuous pressure on the reseller i got a call
from their service center that the card is okay he played games on that for an hour when i asked what game he replied Project IGI i requested him to run some modern games or 3D Mark06 then he assured me he will after another week i got my card back the same card and same frustration but it was my luck or something else the card went dead after a month and after the same drill after 20days i got a brand new 8600GT.

That was my experience with Rashi but i think they should install some advance software for testing GPU in their service centers at least Furmark because we purchase Costly GPU's not only for the sake of display or playing videos or casual games but to play modern ones maxed out So they should also realize that ???

5670 went kaput . so ..

Went to Rashi [ Kolkata ] at 2 PM .... Lunch.
Waited till 2:30 PM , when windows opened , all the people who came after me queued up :| , i was behind 6 people .
The guy had calls coming in every 2 minute or so , and he went for a stroll everytime.. also , every other person who came into Rashi , just came to the window , asked , "Dada ekhane Mouse hobe>?" and then cuningly snuck into the line :|

I finally was able to submit in the 5670 at 3:50 PM.

Next week , i went to get the 5670 returned.

Went at 2:30 ...

Me: RMA # 5203 , 5670 No DIsplay ..
RMA: Yours is faulty , we will give you replace ment , sit for 5 minutes..

After 10 Minutes,
RMA: Dada we need some more time , delivery boy is missing , sit for just 10 more minutes..
Me: I need to buy a Fan , can i come back 1/2 hour later ?
RMA: Yes yes Ok Ok.

After 45 Minutes,
Me: Is it here yet ?
RMA: What ?
Me: 5670 ?
RMA: OOh yes i am telling him to get it now only .. :(

After 5 minutes
My Friend : Dada aar kotokon thakbo apnar manager er number din ami complaint korbo. Onek dur theke eschi 4 hour train journey kore phirte hobe aar apni amader deri orie jacchen , esob cholbe na..
[ Dada how much more do we have to wait , please give us the number of your manager , i will lodge a complaint , we have come here from far out , it would take a 4 hour train journey tp return and you are causing us so much delay , this is not done ]

My 8600GT gone bad on June and I was so fed up with it I've not sent it for RMA but on 29th Aug I've sent it for RMA as the warranty and got a new 8600GT yesterday.

Date of purchase:Bought LOGITECH G110 on 27/08/2011 from Vedant.

On 4th September it has been noticed first that the LED WENT OFF. and after sometimes come back again. This happened several times. On 7th the LED did not lit up at all. But the KB is working. Digitian advised me to RMA the product.

Accordingly on 09/09/2011 I went to Rashi and stood before the counter where Sambhu seats. I just want to see him of whom i have heard so much here. As usual after standing for fifteen minutes (when i already have given the product at his window) he asked me regarding the problem of the product. I told that KB is working but the LED IS malfunctioning. sometimes on and sometimes off. He immediately grins up and said

- " arye dada keboard to kaj korche . LED diye ki hobe" => Man, your keyboard is working fine. what the hell you will do with LED?
Me- “ki bolcho. Otar janeyi to kena hoyeche. Noile sare tin hazar taka diye KB kinechi emni emni?” => what are u saying? It is for the LED that I have bought it. Otherwise why should spend 3.5k for a KB?
I do not have the courage to tell him regarding the macro keys lest he scrambled up all.
Sambhu -“o achha tahale ratri bela etate alo jale”=>oh! I see . it emits light at night!!!
He immediately searched his stock to give a replacement but it was not there. Then he takes the product and put sticker on it and gives me the challan.
Told me it will take four working days to replace and to call him again on Wednesday.

In the evening Sambhu again called me up and said –“ How many colours did my KB emits?”

Me-I have set Three colours RED, BLUE & PURPLE for M1,M2 AND M3 RESPECTIVELY
Sambhu-ok Our Engineer is testing your KB. Presently the LED is working.
Me-But it goes off after sometime of typing. Now, when it will go off God knows that.
Sambhu- O. if no problem found then it will be given back to you.
Me-Ok. The led should not go off again.

I woulld like share my exprnc with you...
A year back my 8600 GT was sent to RMA for Rashi in mumbai.... I was staning in counter.. Next there was a guy with an Asus mobo... The Rashi guy gave him a ditry looking motherboard.... the owner of the board argued with the Rashi guy... Rashi told him that he has left only 2 months in warranty he better accept the board given to him or else forget about a replacement... There is lot of thing this ppl do... Which are not correct....

Rashi is great in sales no doubt. But if this is going to be the case then that pro is going to end up as a con. Nobody has anything against the manufacturers but if the distris/service centre is flashing such arrogance then its going to end up damaging the company's reputation. Then companies wonder why such low sales. Even if there's no strong law to protect the consumers in a way that it puts a fear on the service centres, you cannot deny that such documented threads becomes a tool to avoid such brands, solely because of the annoying antics.

But in any case, online complaint record here is nothing what people have to put through on a daily basis. Rashi doesn't seem to accept boards with anti-static bag on them. I've seen a intel based boards that they give has no proper socket protection. They simply put a paper on it and expect that to protect it.

When I asked them during the time (a week ago) when I collected the credit note on behalf of a friend about the paper "protection", they simply said that they're not responsible for it.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of assemblers bringing the board and removing the HSF and the processor infront of the front desk guy, but rashi needs to educate and insist assemblers/ end users to return the board with anti-static bag and the socket cap. But at the same time, they should return with the anti-static bag and socket cap (and on time).


P.S.: The lamington Rashi office doesn't seem to be displaying the corrosion and burnt warranty posters . They had this long poster with an email address to Asus head and that is missing now.

corrosion and burnt warranty is very much active. Alas, the amount of people who are not familiar with online community don't seem to be aware of it. There was some guy with a Asus notebook that he bought in U.S. Technically Asus India takes care of the RMA, but he submitted to Rashi.

About time Asus has an exclusive RMA centre. Even if its with rashi personnel, someone from asus will be able to overlook their ways to handling things. But if they're doing this, they need to do real time. A lot of people have said that its not possible to avoid so many brands but they're not going to let their money to be wasted this way. Not everyone has a spare board/GPU/memory kit lying around.

the only thing i want to know whether our voices written here is going to the concerned company or not? if no why we are writing this and why there is a separate thread for Rashi at all? Can't the Digit Senior Authorities arrange a forum for this in kolkata with the major Tech leaders (for which Rashi is the Distributor) as it is happening in mumbai on Sept 17,2011 for procuring commonman interest?

The concerned people are watching. Its not Digit, but its the suits. Every effort is taken to do the needful but people will need to keep on updating this thread with the relevant information and back it up with the rashi rma reference number. Feedbacks are very effective, mind you.

Its not going to be an overnight achievement, but more people start expressing this out and more this piles up faster and its done honestly, more effective its going to be. Ranting it out without facts and reference is simply not going to help anything.

^^ok. but then, only the info with proper Rashi RMA NUMBER needs to be here and all other just experiences even with RASHI but without supporting document numbers should be moved to RMA EXPERIENCE THREAD. then only this will become a good supporting thread to fight with. everything is IMO.

The 8600GT went Kaput again ( the warranty is expired on 4th of this month ) - gave it to a friend to use instead of his Leadtek NVIDIA 6800GS 256MB which is still working. and this 8600GT 256MB worked for the least time before it went kaput - on a close observation I found that the clock generator used on the gfx card is just too old though the card and box content looked to be new but actually they are not.

The End Summary : The gfx cards XFX send here for RMA purpose is very bad and that's why not a single RMAed 8600GT worked for more than a month ( except the first one which worked for 3 months ) - I've spent a lot of my precious time to RMA this XFX 8600GT 256MB again and again but never be able to get a another model ( but those might be bad too ) due to Rashi as they have all the bad XFX 8600GT 256MBs made in the whole world in their stock - I would not like anyone to have the same experience like this - so future buyers should stay away from XFX gfx cards IMO.

What rashi does is take old components from dead cards and solder them on defective cards, no guess required how long it will last, the rashi manager during asus meet told me that they use GPU repairing machine(some sort of integrated soldering machine) to repair cards, they no longer send cards to xfx fro rma(low end models), stay away from XFX at all cost.
