SPANISH ace Fernando Torres will reject a summer switch to Manchester United.

The Atletico Madrid striker, 23, came close to joining the Red Devils last year before deciding to stay in Spain.

And Torres has revealed he wants to lead Atletico out in the Champions League next season — dismissing rumours that a move to Old Trafford is back on the cards.

Torres said: "I don't think about leaving.

"There have been seasons in which things haven't gone well.

"At times you can't wait for the close season to arrive so you can forget everything and hope that it's better when you come back.

"But the important thing is to be where you're happy and to win titles there.

"I'm convinced I'm going to be able to win trophies here.

"I don't think about leaving to win titles or play in elsewhere in Europe.

"I want to gain titles with Atletico because it's the team I love."

The Atletico skipper, dubbed 'El Nino', made a huge impact for Spain at the World Cup last year, scoring three goals.

Torres has also netted 68 times in 159 appearances for the Madrid outfit.
