Right off the assembly line
1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
A: HD movies, java programming and autocad etc maybe graphic designing someday, gaming.

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
A:yes

3. What is your MAX budget?
A:30-32k

4. Planning to overclock?
A:No (well i can't, at this budget!)

5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A:
windows 7 ultimate 32bit or maybe 64bit
6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A:500gb

7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want? If you already want have one and want to use it, mention its resolution and size.
A:
full HD 1080p! 22 inch, please tell me if Dell 2220L is good.
8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
A: 6

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A:No, assembler would do

10. When are you planning to buy the system?
A:
This weekend
11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
A:Yes if possible

12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
A:No

13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A:
Chandigarh

14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A: Well, i will get the HD 4670 at 2.5k, if any better deal is available,it is welcomed. And i want the machine to be the fastest for the budget. I guess Intel provides the better performance. I own speakers, sound card, and a CD-DVD drive so no need to include these and also no UPS needed!

@ d35pkor

Nice configs & is well balanced. Op should consider the 2nd config as its worth the extra credits.

Consider the cm elite 310 instead of bizli. The former has much better build quality.

I would suggest i5-2500 + H67 , at least 4GB RAM.... ended up being(with 8GB RAM) ~33.1k sans GPU, which I believe is superfluous. Unless there is a high order of graphics processing required like rendering, walkthroughs, etc it is a cost wisely parked for the future. With other Intel options like H61, i5-2400 considered, the cost can be brought down significantly, though I wouldn't opt for it.

This post suggests a nice config.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the response and your helpful suggestions. Well, making the budget 35k won't be an option for me! I surely like i5 2400 and well i am confused if i should go for i5 based configuration but with an entry level GPU, or i can go for a good GPU but i3 or AMD processor. :) I'm not a big fan of AMD. Only if someone could tell me the self-experienced difference between i3 2100 and AMD Phenom II x4 840. I liked the demon lord suggestion

Yep considering a H61 will drop the overall budget significatnly but disables the option for being futureproof.

H61 Motherboard Comparisions.

Adding 8GB of rams for Autodesk currently may be a waste of money when under tight budget. I would suggest to get 2GB & add another 2GB when rendering in future.

Moreover the config suggested by shayem is well balanced & don't include a GPU & Monitor. Adding up a monitor & GPU like 6850 will change the overall config budget to 40k+.

if budget is 30k then get below config.

intel i5-2500 @ 9.7k
intel DH67BL @ 5.5k
Corsair 1333MHz 2x4GB @ 4k
FSP Saga II 500W @ 2.2k
CM Elite 430@ 2.6k
Seagate 1TB @ 2.7k
Logitech Multimedia Combo @ 0.7k
Asus 24x DVD RW @ 1k
Logitech Z313 @ 1.5k

Total@ 29900

^^^Add a GPU !....

:D I'm not a fan of GPUs for the time being, especially when the processors themselves do a good fare of it :D.

In particular, if the requirements of OP are taken into account - programming/coding, HD movies, AutoCAD,(and moving into rendering and gaming later he says). :-D.

i5-2400+H61 saves ~3k+ right off the bat. It is in itself a good option, given that OP is ready to consider 2 core i3s.
