Tablet confusion ?!?!?

My Main usage would be movie watching and gaming..From what i've seen on my dad's Lumia 535, Windows has excellent productivity apps, but gaming dept. is disappointing...Apple & ios,on the other hand, provide decent no. of apps on both depts..



Just like i suspected..i regularly use apps like shareit to transfer between devices..The display/processor/build of ipad is flawless, but when it comes to connectivity/storage, it sucks.. everytime i want to watch a video, i have to connect it to PC & sync it, which seems a bit of a hassle for me..

Hopefully with a 10.1" Windows based Tablet there won't be any issues with gaming.You just can't compare a Lumia 535 with a full fledged 10.1" Windows(Full OS) Tablet from HP/ACER/DELL/ASUS/etc.companies. More sweeter if the screen sports 1920x1200 (Full FHD) resolution specs.
Android Tablets are also very best and great,but not everything could be done on by Android.

Wait for a few days as I think mwc is approaching. So expect some great tablets from it.

Don't go for nexus 9, it isn't worth the price. It's a MEH tablet and has bad display.

As I said earlier, wait for some days for Nokia n1 and mwc too.

yeah, i'll be waiting tiil mwc... don't know if i can wait until nokia n1's launch since no launch date has been specified ..

I just found out that ios does have shareit & it works fine on the older iphone4 !!!

Now if only there was a otg-like solution for storage problems for ipad ( the otg pendrive from strontium is ridiculously priced )

P.S : My brother during his 4 year stay in japan purchased a iphone 4 on contract ( it doesn't work here, so he uses it as ipod )... Flipkart has a exchange offer on ipad air2..exchange of iphone4 would reduc the cost by 7.5k..would they accept the iphone4( from japan ) in such case ? )

Have Homegroup setup on Windows 7 PC, use ES Explorer to effortlessly browse all shared folders on PC from Mobile, playing all kinds of videos on MX Player. Android is unbelievable.

IPad is a nice idea but if you want great productivity and multitasking, go for Windows or at the least Android. Don't go for Ios as you might get bored of its locked down nature.

This is the point of using free software as Android.
Heard that Windows 10 might be Free for OEM ,particularly in Tablets segment also.

ipad is the best tablet experience imho
dont listen to people saying its locked down etc
ive used both Nexus 7(own it) and Nexus 9(friends) and own iPads 2,3,4 and android tablets are a waste unless you get them on a major discount
sure otg support and bluetooth are a PITA on iOS but the overall experience on an iPad is vastly superior than android tabs

in case of phones,I hate iphones,they are extremely overpriced even compared to an iPad which has slightly better hardware(screen and cpu clock) and iPhones<<Android Phone

I guarantee iPad display and experience etc is totally worth it

Android tablets dont come close to iOS and Windows at all in the overall experience
they lack out of the box gestures and arent well optimised(even Nexus,my own Nexus 7 is literally a paperweight since 5.0)
thats just my experience(and opinion) after owning and using Nexus and iPad

I didnt say windows tablets are bad, I said ios and windows>>android in tablets atleast

as for iPad,ipad mini and retina ipads beat Nexus by miles
the only reason Nexus 7 looks better than iPad 2 is because of the smaller display hence higher ppi than ipad 2,itll never beat anything above ipad 3 for sure because ipad 3 onwards have 1536 x 2048 pixels as compared to 1080p of nexus 7 2013

also once you own an ipad or a windows tablet,you will know why gestures are needed and define a good tablet,android is lacklustre in comparison in the tablet department still unless you are on a budget

android specialises only in the phone department, apple and microsoft have perfected the tablet experience in comparison to android

You can make gestures in Android as its open source. Also, you can install multi window apps and can be used simultaneously.

Nonetheless, at the price range of ipads, ipads are better but I prefer Windows tablets over them.

I can second [MENTION=184724]kkn13[/MENTION] at that gesture thing. IOs tablets has got a very fluid gesture control for making multi tasking easy but android has caught up a lot in lollipop.

Windows Mobile doesn't even have a proper app for Whatsapp and Facebook, which is what most of the people use a smartphone for. I'm really regretting buying my mother a Lumia 520, the browser is no where near Chrome on android for ease of browsing, and Whatsapp has no backup facility to transfer all chats to other platform phones.

Windows as a OS can be much better if Google start supporting it. But as of now lack of proper Gapps is a big let down.

Im afraid I dont quite agree,I find windows phone well coded etc
FB is better on WP than on ios and android imho
whatsapp is equally pathetic on all platforms,I have it on my ipad 2,4 , Nexus 5 and 7 ,Lumia 720 and 820, BB Z10 , they are just too lazy to code properly imho heck despite the annoying ads even Hike,WeChat are miles ahead

No one needs Gapps to succeed
once you use MS services,youll see how much easier it is to use overall

I prefer chrome and can't live without the keep and gmail. I use MS services but don't use them too often to use them as my daily drivers.

Is Lumia 520 a mid range phone or an entry level phone ( honest inquiry, not being rhetorical )? Whatsapp on Windows has tons of limitations compared to its Android counter part. Same can be said about the Facebook app. Many apps on Store are from unverified developers, below par compared to the ones available on Android.


You want stable , smooth performance, no glitches, brilliant photos and videos, get iPad. You want apps and games , Android. Windows loses out to both imho.
