Mainly want to run PS, 3DS Max, Archi/AutoCAD and obviously gaming.

Will be buying an external HDD later, so HDD should be of 500GB. No monitor, UPS required. RAM must be atleast 4GB

I had scanned a few threads, and found this thread (Pls Suggest good config for Gaming PC <-link) request having similarity to my budget. I liked the system desibond suggested (<-link) there.

This is desibond's reccomendation :

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 925: 7.5k
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-US2H: 5.5k
Ram- Transcend 2x2 gb 1333mhz: 5.4k
Gpu - Sapphire HD5850 : 17k or GTX275 : 13k or HD5770: 11.5k
Hdd - Wd caviar Blue 1Tb
PSU - Corsair Vx 450
Cabinet - cm elite 335
Samsung 2233SW : 9k
samsung DVD burner: 1.1k
logitech k/b and mouse: 700 bucks
(if you don't have one) APC UPS 800VA: 4k approx
Background story:

It is for a friend of mine, I don't know anything about the current hardware environment. I am outdated to the extent that the "latest"chipset the I am able to name from memmory is nForce 4 Ultra. So, you guys understand how out I am :|

So guys, please chime in and help me.

Seagate 500GB 2.3K
ATI Radeon HD 5870 -14060/-

CABINET-XION AXP 100 Gaming Series AXP100-001BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ATX Mid-Tower Case -1.5K

^^Gr8 config...whats the resolution of ur monitor?
I don't think the monitor he is currently having will do any justice to the hardware we are talking about. But, will buy a new one in a month or two. Budget constraints.

ATI 5850 1GB - 17k
I've noticed it, everyone is reccomending ATi cards now, any special reason for that? What is the nVidia equivalent for that?

Another question, what will be the cost of a single 4GB RAM stick?

Thanks for your time guys :)

hi buddy

The dx58dso and asus p6t deluxe are lga 1366 mobos based on x58 chipset and designed for bloomfield processors. They wont support the lynnfield i7 860.

You can go for core i5 and pair it with msi p55 cd53 if ya want to overclock or else go for intel dp55wb.

1st of all, i7 860(socket 1156) is not compatible with x58 boards(socket 1366).
Secondly, the prices you got in the above quotation are no where near the correct prices at all.

IMO, Desibonds config is better for your requirements !

I am just curious, what is the reasoning behind it?

About the price difference, I think the guy who sent me the details converted it from USD to INR. To add more fun to it, the idiot took One USD = 37 INR while calculating

And what about the price of single-4 GB RAM stick? Any guesses?
