Suggest Cheap Notebook Speakers!!

tkin

Back to school!!
I has just ordered a Dell 15R, now I have a barrage of IEMs and HPs, but a speaker is needed for those moments when I am watching movies or listening to music with friends or just have to keep an ear open for outside noises, or when the IEM/HP starts to get uncomfortable and I hate laptop speakers

So suggest me a cheap notebook speaker around 2-3k max, this need not be powered by USB, but must be either 2.0 or bar type, i.e no mono or 2.1 setups, also no cheap brands like intex and the other ones popping up daily, also it would be better if it could clip on to the side of the screen but its optional. Also small and easy to carry size would be useful.

Budget is strict, no increasing, but try to keep it around 2k.

Yeah :D

My good quality speaker range starts with Z623 and peaks with Audio Engine.

PS: You're one to talk, your gaming rig probably costs more than 5-6 of your friend's systems combined :p

Then why not a more than enough decent enough laptop with 1080p IPS screen, < 2kg with 256GB SSD ?

I don't install VLC on my laptop (and even recommend this to all).

So its full audio without any distortion or potential damage.

I am taking me gaming RIG to my work location in a few months, what would I do with a laptop like that? This one is for work and some side gaming on trips etc, or in office when I get bored :D

If you keep the sound at 100 max then you are not going to hurt your laptop speakers. :)

If you own a ferari, then (at least) I don't think you're going to put the brakes whatever the road be. :)

Its not like that. Actually till 100 volume the sound is OK just like other players but when you push it beyond 100 then you are pushing your hardware too much, you can easily notice the distortion on anything above 100 if you are a good listener. Its not that never use, use it when you really need to like in some movies where voice is too low. But if you keep pushing the hardware beyond limit all the time, its obvious that you will damage it. Its like OCing a hardware to max limit and using it 24*7 with 100% consumption.

I'm going to tirupati today to see if I can snag a ferox in 2.5k as they are selling it in their website, if not I'll go with Logitech bar type.
