Why wasting two of the ram slots for just 4 GB ram? Get the Corsair 4GB 1333 MHz module @ 1.2K only. You can overclock them very easily with the AMD mobo to run them @ 1600 MHz without any issues. Tested from my side. If you don't wanna take the risk then go for G-skill Ripjaw 4 GB 1600MHz module @ 1.4K

^^+1.but brother is it safe to run amd phenom with 1600MHz ram as i read in overclocker forum that phenom's memory controllers are made for 1333MHz and running above it may cause damage to the controller.so i reduced my vengeance freq from 1600 to 1333 and tightened the latency to 7-7-7-19.

No Need to reduce the frequency.

If CPU Supports 1333 MHz then it will use that much of the 1600 MHz. No damage what so ever to controller or anything.

I am using GSkill 1600 Mhz Modules with my Phenom 955 with no issues at all. Tighter timings are ok if you are going to OC the Proccy or else dont bother with it as you wont notice any difference in actual (your) use at all.

Thanx. I think my config goin to right direction.
So, if anyone ask
Q. Why this config?
A: I want the upgrade path be opened for the future?

sukesh1090, the default ram speed supported by Phenom II/Athlon II series is 1333 MHz. You have to overclok the Ram Multiplier to make it work in 1600 MHz speed and there is no chance of memory controller damage or anything.
In my previous config, I used to run my 2X2 GB Kingston 1333 MHz value Ram to 1600 MHz speed by adjusting the multiplier to X4 from the BIOS of my Gigabyte GA-MA-785GMT mobo. Now all the current 8XX/9XX series mobo can detect the XMP profiles of ram. So if your Ram is a 1600 MHz ram, while plugged it will run @ 1333 MHz speed but the XMP profile can be accessed in Motherboard BIOS setup. Just select the profile for the 1600 MHz and your done.

^^my ram supports xmp profile and i have 880g chipset mobo but doesn't show any option to enable xmp.i have increased the multiplier to 8.xx to get my speeds to 1600.i ahve the latest bios update but still why it is not showing the xmp profile?
