Digit Makes Us April Fool
Digit has made us April Fool by providing some old and useless stuff on the DVDs.
1. Knoppix 3.6 (2004 Version) - The current version is 6.0.1 released in Feb 09
2. Digit has provided Service Packs for Office 2000, XP and 2003. Digit should know that SP3 includes SP1 and SP2. Also I am not sure if anyone still used Office 2000 or Office XP
3. Scientific Linux 5.2 provided is also an older version, the latest version released is 5.3. Unfortunately Digit has provided the Live CD of the same and not the DVD ISO.

also i guess the test team got a better taste in music(BTBAM's Selkies).way to go guyz.
i'd recommend the following songs instead of the old stuff u guyz use to test
Opeth-Windowpane/The Drapery Falls
Mudvayne - Prod
Converge - Concubine
Thrice - Daedalus
this should cover every musical aspect u want to test

It's something CHIP mag has too, it's a good idea really, letting readers who aren't members on the forum, to know what it is here.

Perfect Design of the Magazine.
I don't think that digit can be designed that perfect ever again. What a gorgeous look. I am still watching it from yesterday evening when I bought it from the stands.
About the content I will post later.
But there is a lot of future tech. You may like it or dislike it.

yess....i thoroughly enjoyed reading the mag this time,..the contents were very good.

BTW - Loved the magazine, especially the tech in movies article.
About Digit 3.0.
I find lot of digit to be right off the bat. I have started finding digit a bit boring now. It sounds like reading through some lecture notes.
Things I would suggest from past is:
1. Keep some gossip/fun stuff about technology in the magazine. As we used to have earlier (now replaced by Final Word)
2. 30 minute help can get people lost. How about Uploading it in video on DVD instead of featuring 30 minutes in magazine. Earlier version back in 2002 used to come with how to video or do it with Digit.
3. IT feels like reading advertisement throughout. It feels like digit has increased cost to support those advertisers than other way round. Charge advertisers more and not digit Readers. Magazine is one side read, Other side is Advertisement. And those advertisement are very irrelevant to current article too. Don't even know why it is there.
4. There are so many experts in every field and everyone having very contradicting opinion about everything. May be Digit Editor should watch Gadget show on channel Five (UK television) on Monday nights.
We would like to have Indian version of such show. Instead of showcasing a product, how about building proper Video which gives end to end preview on how product works. What are possible enhancement we can do with it.
Example - Sony Vaio P Video (Every user can log on to Youtube now a day and watch kind of video we have on DVD. We want Expert Opinion on it and that is reason we subscribe to digit.

2. Digit saves lot of bandwidth for me by providing updates every month on dvds
3. Digit was early on Windows Vista like bandwagon. Why not something similar for Win 7 bandwagon. I am expecting more Win 7 enhanced application.
