This new version has several differences from the old one:
1. No Macro
2. Better optics
3. Better construction
4. VC - most important.

I have been using it only a couple of hours and already I like the feel of it. Feels very solidly built, and the zoom ring feels just tight enough. There is no zoom creep that I can see, and focus is quick and silent. You can see and hear the VC kick in if you move the camera around, it is almost like a click.

One great thing is, you meter on your subject, and the image absolutely stops moving. You almost need to make a physical effort to get some jitter.

Some test images seem pretty sharp too.

Overall a pretty good lens.

Yes, Model A005 for the Canon mount.

My only gripe is that this same lens carries a 6-Year Warranty in the Good Ol' US of A.
Tamron USA : Tamron SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD Lens

5-Year Warranty in Europe
Tamron Europe: Tamron SP AF 70-300 F/4-5.6 Di VC USD

So why not here for us poor desis?

Here you go for the bag link.

How much is the pen drive giving speeds in real world scenario ? And the software (I forgot it's name) you've gave screenshot of, doesn't carries any such background. Source for that ?

Thanks for all your info.
