dildos and japanese s** dolls may be

Lol, just kidding :p

How big would the difference be btw? compared to the western rates, and what about the shipping costs?

Well, shipping from the west usually costs me about $40 - $60, standard mail. Shipping from Japan costs ¥3000 - ¥4000 EMS.

The products sold in the west are usually marked up from the Japanese street price, while I get it below Japanese street price.

You usually pay ~30% over japanese street prices in the west (if ordering at western street price) and get it a whole lot later than if you would if ordering from Japan.

20 below Japanese street or 30 above? You decide.

As a rule of thumb, the source country is always cheaper.

I've ordered stuff from Japan (note: Japanese stuff, not US imports) before and I can assure you it was much cheaper over there than in US/Canada. If you go back a few pages I have a post about the Gunpla I purchased. It would cost me almost 160% to import from US.

Gollum, which site did you buy from in Canada?

I would suggest checking out Home Page | HobbyLink Japan and AmiAmi [Character & Hobby Shop] for anime goods.

And in regards to this topic: I purchased a Master Grade RX-93 Nu Gundam ver. Ka and its limited edition double Fin Funnels expansion pack from www.gkgundamkit.com [Hong Kong site focusing on Gunpla] a few days ago. It has arrived in Delhi customs and it should come here next week (hopefully).

Also purchased Nokia N9 64GB from Online Shopping India | Clothing, Shoes, Mobiles - Kaunsa.com . It should arrive by July 13th.

That's good deals you got considering the duties.

I got two cameras and accessories from Lomography & Kickstarter and the duties were bad.

Initially, one shipment from Hong Kong where I paid like 60%.
Luckily, on the other one it was what it should have been.

Now, waiting for my GameStick to arrive.

Source? The Aegis I'm familiar with looks nothing like that.

It's the Aegis from Persona. I found the figurine to be cool looking and detailed. Figma it is.

Bought the first two from Nippon-Yasan

Did you check out those websites I'd PMed you? How much cheaper was Nippon-Yasan?

The gunpla seem to be really overpriced.

I did check the prices and found Nippon Yasan marginally cheaper by 2-3 dollar. Selected registered shipping ~$30 for these two.

Third last option, registered with insurance. About $30 for package of two.

SAL is the japanese Surface - Air post. It is treated as airmail outside the source and destination countries but as surface in them.

If you do choose to go for tracked SAL, EMS can end up being cheaper and usually is only ¥300 ~ ¥400 more expensive. Dunno about reliability. EMS always seemed like a better deal to me.

^^EMS is the better option for India too. Ordinary mails have good chance of getting lost.

As long as it is registered (i.e. tracked) even ordinary parcels wont get lost. They might take forever to arrive, but chances of getting lost are too slim.
