I don't have E11, so cannot compare.

Ordered by EMS Speed Post.

Yeah, it was stuck in customs. Paid ~1000 as tax.

Should have been in my hands within 2 weeks but took more than 1 month due to retention at customs office.

I'd suggest you to order it via normal Airmail to avoid it getting stuck at customs.

If you choose Fed Ex then original MRP of the items have to be sent with the package and you will be taxed according to that though you will get the parcel with 2-3 days.

@ Faun, awesome man, review the E30 please, can't wait to get my hands on it.

First impressions:

These are of balanced kind. Midrange is touch coarse sounding compared to other earphones of higher bracket. Soundstage is pretty good, infact it is surprisingly good.

Build quality looks cheap because of plastic everywhere.

What do you think? Good enough to replace my PL30? Better than others in same price bracket? Like Brainwavz M2/M3?

Fiio E11 is only an AMP while E17 is a DAC/AMP. And the hardware control to set treble, bass and balance is quite good. See your priorities and decide.

Prefer Popo over the other two.
Hisound Popo are quite fun to have around. Not the most accurate but the musicality wins with the lush and liquid mids and wooden reverberation. Bass got some good texture. Treble is not so bright and not so dull, relaxed sounding. Distant soundstage (out of head presentation) and great instrument separation + imaging. Although bass can be quite prominent with some tips, count me as a non basshead.

I would buy them if they retail around 3k.

It's raining audio gears here. Congrats Faun.
You got to try JVC FXT90.

Yeah, my space is running out and HDD prices are not low enough to buy one.

Never listened to Bwavz M2/M3. But if you liked PL30 and looking for similar signature then these are definitely a slight upgrade over that.

I can send you mine to evaluate with M2/M3.

I don't own the M2/M3, just PL30 and a pair of marshmallows, PL30 is all I ever needed, but unfortunately I managed to break one of the bass knobs(they are cheap), and want to replace them sometime in future.

I think I'll just order one, but I really wish they would be available here in future, buying locally gives me rma support.

Thanks, I love the sound. Paid a premium, but out of options.

Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the failure of A2s, so at 14k SP2500 is best? No other options?

How is Sonodyne? They have a showroom in kolkata, heard some reviews for them, positive so far.

sonodyne is pretty good. i havent read much about their speakers, but their equipment like amplifiers are quite popular. you SHOULD go for an audition there for the speakers i feel. also, late jan, they had 'republic day' discount offer scheme. it was extended ahead too i think. just inquire if its still up

secondly, since you wrote you would like to have a stereo set-up, i would suggest you to forego 2.1 system for a 2.0 set-up. but ONLY IF you promise not to indulge in movie-watching on them too often, and restrict your usage to some good music only ;)

i feel you should start a new thread when you think you have the green bucks !

for starters, i would recommend you some active speakers rather than passive ones, to eliminate the expense of an amplifier. these have got some good feedback, and register as slight dots on my radar too (since some 3-4 months :D) :

i have a severe space-restriction in my room, hence my hands are tied at the moment :-x. but i have thought of 'sticking up' my monitor onto the wall from my table, and place either of these monitors then on the table.

congrats faun ! so you got the alpen ! would be helpful if you could post a short comparison-review on it whenever time permits :)

now here's something from my side :

had purchased them about a month back, but these were stuck at my brother's place all this time due to transport-issue. but finally got them tomorrow evening. though poor me, havent got the wires nor amplifier to drive them yet. a few more days' wait before i rattle up the walls :hissyfit:

BTW, got these from a fellow-member 'freshseasons' for 6.5k. these are pre-modded by him, and he also kindly sent me the spiked-stands for the speakers, which am yet to install the speakers on (those are still lying with my bro :-x). 'freshseasons' is like one of those people with whom you would like to be in constant touch for eons to come :p

P.S. - indeed, this seems to be a hifi-season here :D

isnt it surprising, so less for a pair of FS ?! it is ;)

havent been able to listen to them, as am still on the hunt for a suitable amp and wires :(

but user-feedback is that they are some of the loudest, good-sounding bass-demons at this sweet price point (MRP is 8-10k, but its very difficult to find a new, or even a used pair locally in market)!

so you can understand my eagerness to taste its servings :p

@Kirlo..oops! Ghormanas :p Congrats bro once again. Looks like your neighbours are in for a surprise. ;)

I was expecting you to throw a 5-digit number at use. ~7k is unbelievable

Yeah I forgot that Roland model, thanks for the link :)
