mighty congrats to skud, dr. saab (mukherjee), debashish, bubusam, gvamsikris !

@ skud - all those pc-components you bought are for your regular PC upgrade i guess ?! HTPC i think would come later, right ? have a great time with it !

@ d3p - a solid gift you got there ! complements your passion ;)
and did you get that stand for G27 custom built ? hows the experience on this wheel, as i wasnt very impressed with whatever little time i have had with wheels, but then that was a long time ago.
would appreciate your feedback :)

some stuff from my closet too. been sitting over them since some time :

1. APC BR1100CI-IN :

* got about a month back from ebay. the seller regularly places his listing for the lowest price on the portal. had given it a skip earlier thinking of fetching some nice price locally, but the local dealers offered horrible prices, and by that time the ebay listing vanished too ! but thankfully after a short wait, it was relisted, again for the lowest price i saw ever. damage was 4969/- (list-price i think was 5318/-)

* using it for my TV, media player, STB and home-theater. chose APC over others due to this particular model's good feedback, and most-of-the-times splendid after-sales service of APC. it takes the load without breaking a sweat ! with a small form-factor, could be tucked away in a corner easily; a bit heavy though. back-up time is 'said to be' around 15 mins, but i dont remember seeing this anytime, since have had too less power-cuts that i could remember. have set it up as MAINS >> BELKIN SPIKE-GUARD >> APPLIANCE.

APC Back-UPS 1100, 230V, BS546A, without auto shutdown software, India

sorry, dont have any worthwhile pics to show, except the following 'box-pack' one, if it could mean anything :

2. Fiio E6 :

* just bought on a whim. i use my PMP mostly while travelling for some outing or on treks. this would then work as an accompaniment. hence not used much as of now. damage - 1550/- (from pristine note)

*i.imgur.com/fX3IMl.jpg

3. Creative D100 & D200 :

* portable wireless speakers that work with bluetooth. also with 3.5 mm jacks. D200 fares a little better in sound. D100 works on battery too, and is quite light-weight, with matte finish, so could prove to be a great gear on outings. D200 has glossy finish and looks better; slightly heavier too. sound is a bit more filling on the D200 understandably.
would probably gift the D200 to my brother.

damages -- 3050/ (D100); 5400/- (D200)

D100 :

D200:

4. Logitech Harmony 300 universal remote :

* bought from ebay. works for max. 4 devices. easy to set-up, but biggest flaw is cant be configured on win7 64-bit. can be done either on 32-bit win7 or win xp.
* 'teaching' the remote is quite easy and fun to do. am using it currently for my TV & home-theater.

*i.imgur.com/a1NCll.jpg

5. books :

* my first batch of books that got delivered 2-3 days back. others should arrive soon.

* buying anything from infibeam for the first time. packing is very good. almost on par with flipkart, or probably better. i think its better ;)

6. wharfedale diamond D10.DFS Dipole Rear Surround Speakers :

* said to be a valuable addition to any surround sound system. not tested it yet.

* bought from hifimart for 11900/-

*i.imgur.com/EmgMbl.jpg*i.imgur.com/RXdMXl.jpg*i.imgur.com/6G56gl.jpg*i.imgur.com/QlXONl.jpg*i.imgur.com/pYdqFl.jpg*i.imgur.com/9FHbCl.jpg

some more hifi gear coming up in the next few weeks....

P.S. - Pls tell me if pics should be resized.

Some "sound" purchases. Enjoy.

Purchases are mixed, both upgrade and for HTPC. Prime is delaying shipping the cabinet I ordered, so just pulled out my old cabinet yesterday, assembled the stuff and hooked to my TV. Crysis 2 was looking gorgeous, and to my surprise was pretty fluid. ;)

Frankly, i enjoy the G27 to the fulliest. The stand for G27 is not a custom built. Its from Speedblack. The one which i have is Speedblack Evo Red & i paid almost 100Euros [6500 INR].I got this from Amazon.de during my Germany trip. Its not widely available in india, but i guess Playseats are dealing this days with good accessories, but with a hefty price tag.

I have tried Dirt [1 & 2, i don't like 3rd], Race Driver Grid, WRC 2 & F1 2011 & NFS Shift series mean time & i can say its good so far. The only thing, i require now is few more good Sim Titles like Nascar for PC.

Congrats to all the buyers for the purchases. Guys any suggestions on a good wireless speaker for least price?
Congrats GhorMaanas. How much did the Universal remote cost and I didn't understand when you talk about Win bit? Also how is the quality of the Creative Speakers?

thank you ! and thanks for the feedback too. i have some real space constraint for this to be used with the PC, but may be able to accommodate one easily for my console & TV set-up when i get a better hifi rack. will start getting my basics strong from now itself, so that less time is spent hunting for this gear, if & when i decide to :)

Received:
Flipkart.com: Strontium 16 GB USB TNT Pen Drive: Pendrive

:D

ncie ! congrats ! its raining pen-drives in the face of inflated HDD prices, isnt it ? ;)
BTW, there was a tradus-offer of 16gb sandisk cruzer blade for 599/- a few days back.

thank you !
the remote set me back by 999/- (listed price on ebay was 1099/-). you cant configure the remote on 64-bit win7, because the system, although does automatic driver-installation, the harmony set-up software (which runs online) doesnt recognise it on 64-bit version. guess the devs at logitech forgot to modify the software to suit latest changes ;)

if you have the SOLE intention of taking a wireless, light portable speaker on picnics, beaches, etc, then creative D100 would come in quite handy. the sound is nothing to write paras about, but its decent, and can be quite enjoyable on outings; whereas the SQ of D200 is much more balanced, and bass is also fuller. ofcourse, it all depends on the source of music too, but with portability and wireless characteristics being the chief-features here, you cant ask for much more i guess. am still in the process of burning them, so writing more about both's SQ, i think, wont stand justifiable. hope that helps.

What would the remote have to got to do with the operating system. I thought the universal remote is primarily for TV,DVD Player, etc.

Thanks for the inputs on the wireless speaker. Sometimes I shuttle between two houses so I was thinking will have one wireless speaker which I can use to play songs from my mobile etc.
