congrats vickybat!!I think that UPS comes with a CD which has a battery meter kinda software. If the main power goes off the computer will shut down when battery meter falls below 50%(or any number as set by you).Comes handy when you aint around the system & power goes off.

Thanks a lot buddy. But to use it , the ups needs to get hooked up to my system and strangely there are no usb ports in the ups but the manual and the cover says that there's a usb port. Even the cover says there are 3 programmable modes depicted by led lights but my model has none.

Will post some pics and let you guys know.

Your ups probably has no usb port on itself, it uses some kind of cable with usb on one end and another propitiatory connection on other end, just use that converter cable.

@virus007, Lovely package. Loved that mouse pad. BTW- Can you please tell me which mouse pad is best for gaming and other purposes? I really can't decide, some says Razer pads, some says Steel Pad (not steel series pads). So I would love have a good advice which will keep my mouse's below surface scratch free and it will test my mouse's high dpi with smooth and solid scrolling.
Thanks in advance.

Some suggestions which will help you to decide.

Cost of the mouse pad depends on Availability, Brand, Surface material , Size of pad (large/small), surface dots for laser precision, surface texture/designs etc.

Expensive mouse pad have very smooth surface so your expensive mouse can slide over it with minimum friction thus giving long life to mouse feet. On mousepad surface it has micro dots which reflects mouse optical LASER, Razer/Steel etc promotes their mouse pad compatible/tested with blah blah series mouse which is absolutely true. Check for compatible/tested mouse with certain expensive pads, else you'll have mouse pointer jump/skips (you can check some youtube videos).

Pad can be fold-able/roll or hard, again depends if you want to carry it or fix.
If not good material, Hard pads tend to bend from corners over the time.

Before buying always check the thickness and transparency of the pad, as if its very transparent then you might need to put black or any color paper underneath for proper Laser reflection (its a practical problem).

Surface depends on your gaming style, Quake Live may not require a smooth (Razer Speed edition) but a semi surface (Razer Control Edition). Always warm up before going for multiplayer match with any mouse pad or surface.
And remember its Your practice which wins the game. People play games on their laptop sitting on bed with 300/- Mouse and bed-sheet as mousepad and still score top  .

If you find, get a Roccat Taito/Sota Mousepad (700 - 1400 approx).

Nice.....
I had the same 98 degree temp & frequent thermal shutdown issue on my C2D.
Next day I found that Heat sink was disturbed during last cleaning.
So, took out sink, re-settled and it came back to 50 Degree.

@sammy

wow. that is one big temperature drop.

@ Sam - Congrats!!But 95°C!!You must be pretty happy with the temp drop!!But how did the temps go up so high

thanks to all.

you got me finally  i was showing my disassembling skills 2-3 months ago when i ended up damaging one of the pushpin partially. half of the white-semitransparent knob was broken. so the HSF was little loose. i passed the fan power cable/wire between the pushpin mechanism & the aluminium so making it tight to some extend. problem was, the thermal grease have harden & the HSF was not having proper contact. temperature: 75 degree under normal usage.

3 days ago i removed the heatsink again. cleaned the hardened TIM. & just reinstalled it (without TIM). maybe due to my carelessness, i ended up with a broken pushpin (the damaged pushpin gave up finally). still fitted it by wrapping wires between pushpins & HSF. fired up PC and by time windows load, PC shutdown due to overheating.

so yesterday brought a new HSF & temperature stayed @ 40degree during browsing & 55degree when doing some heavy multitasking/installations. or maybe cause OS is Win7.

now the funny part. when at shop i asked for a tube of TIM. at first the guy told they not have TIM. than i asked shop owner & he gave me what looks like a bus ticket. only after touching it i know it was TIM. it was just completely flat, like an used shampoo sachet. just 1 small drop of TIM was there.

@Sam, Congrats buddy, That's a nice temperature drop.

Cheers,
sid_gamer

thanks buddy

Be careful when you apply pressure on push-pins. At times you can shatter the mother boards. Now that would be a disaster.

Wow, your comment was so helpful. I went to a store today to buy but only surface pad was available. They said I have to order first then they will get me one. So I looked at those mice pads you mentioned. I found them good but I actually think I need a Steel pad, not steel series but metal coz I don't need to carry that pad. If I am not wrong the a Steel pad can't come folded or rolled, right?
As my mice surface is already damaged I don't wanna damage it anymore.

Saurav.
