AMD Phenom II X2 555BE + MSI 785G-E53 @ 10.5k
4GB(2x2GB) 1333MHz Transcend DDR3 RAM @ 5k
500 GB WD Blue @ 2.3k
Sapphire HD5750 1GB DDR5 @ 8.5k
CM Elite 310 @ 1.5k
Gigabyte Superb 460w @ 2.2k

If you can stretch your budget replace the avobe mentioned graphics card with Sapphire HD5770 1GB GDDR5 @ 10k and the PSU with Corsair VX450 @ 3.8k

In that case you can go for AMD Athlon II X4 620/630 @ 5k/5.5k
For motherboard you can opt for costly Gigabyte MA785GMT-UD2H/MA785GMT-U2SH @ 6k or cheap Biostar TA785GE @ 3.7k

Now make your decission according to how much you can strech your budget.

Well the above config is good.
But if you are not that much into gaming,I'd suggest a 5670 for you.
And yes,a graphics card is necessary.Leaving it out is not an option.Because every now and then you might want to try out some new game. Also,it will help in watching HD movies and aid in running the aero of windows 7.
So,go with the above config.Its good. :)

Change the Processor to Athlon II 630 X4. Phenom II 555 is gaming optimized CPU. It will only perform better in game. But the 4 cores of Athlon II X4 will be much more helpful.
2ndly, no need to go for 4 GB ram right now. Now the price of DDR3 is very high. Opt for 2 GB. Upgrade it later if you need.
As per Graphics card, I suggest you to go for a low end graphics card. As you love to watch movies, there are lots of players (Like Media Player Classic Home Cinema) which uses graphics card to perform some dynamic post processing on the movie to increase its quality (SD to HD resolution up-scaling, image sharpening etc)
Go for VTX3D HD5450 512MB DDR2 @ 2.5k if you only want HD movies, else go for Sapphire HD5670 512MB GDDR5 @ 5.1k
Mor storing movies, opt for a 1 TB HDD

Total config will be like that

AMD Athlon II X4 630 Quad Core 2.8 GHz @ 5k
2 GB Kingston/Transcend DDR3 1333 MHz @ 2.7k
1 TB Seagate Sata @ 3.9k
Biostar TA785G A3 @ 3.7k
Gigabyte Superb 460w @ 2.2k
CM Elite 310 @ 1.5k
HD5450 512MB DDR2 @ 2.5k or Sapphire HD5670 512MB GDDR5 @ 5.1k

Total 21.5k for HD 5450 or 24.5k if u go for HD 5670

bad bad board. for board, if u getting graphics card, get Biostar TA785G3 HD. if u not getting a card, get Asus M4A785TD-V EVO or MSI 785GM E65. both got great audio. the bio* Cilus suggested, its audio sux. don't go for it if u into watching movies.

also no need for HD5670. its a gaming card. it'll be simply like wasting money.

for proccy, your choice. X4 630 is good for multitasking. X2 555 BE's unlock chance is more than 95%. so u may get a X4 B55 for low price.

Well....all the 785 series chipsets have ATI 4200 integrated which plays HD's easily, still I would recommend you to get a Graphics Card.

my HD4200 not playing DVDrips with sharp resolutions, discussed with Cilus and he suggested i should check the codecs i am using

Ya codec makes a lot of difference in picture quality. Windows 7 comes with some crappy codecs for every format like H264, Mpeg4 part II (Divx/Xvid), Mpeg2, flv etc. So every thing will be playable but with bad quality.

Install ffdshow or SHARK 007 codec pack and haali media splitter for H264 content (mainly mkv and mp4 file container). You will find immediate improvement. Plus these codecs have DXVA acceleration and use GPU for processing. So picture quality will be lot better.

you not need X4 965. X4 630 will do just fine. that proccy will run very hot, as reported by many members here. so go for X4 630. thats more than u need.

mobo is very good one. stick to it as well as PSU. for PSU u may opt for FSP Saga II 400W if u don't have upgrade in your mind. else get CX400W & save 1k.
