Processor -> E8400 ->8.3k
Ram -> 2GB x 2 DDR2 800 -> 4k
Motherboard -> IP35-E -> 5.6k
GPU -> MSI 8800GT 512MB -> 12k
DVD-RW -> Samsung -> 1.1k
Cabinet -> 1.5-2k
SMPS -> CM 690W - 3.9k

Total comes to 36.9k.u can always save 2k by getting 2*1GB DDR2 now and lateron add another 2GB.

+1, but get 2 gigs of RAM. You don't need 4, and it's incompatible with 32 bit OSes.

if its a high performance PC for some 3d \ other workstation work go with a Quad core only , forget the rest
Other part of the config as hellgate said..
and go for a CM 330 elite cabby for that price range

and 4gb ram works with both XP and Vista 32bit..its only that in XP it will show around 3gb ram , which is normal.

Point Blanc
32 bit OS do not work well with 4 GB RAM (better say more than 3 GB RAM).
Even the performance can go down with $GB XP-32.

they do work and theres no negative impact on performance
here's my own screenie with 4gb ram-

8800GT is way to high end graphics card for my needs....i dont do too much of rendering work.

My main day to day apps are:

UT3 (10-15 mins) to Warm up
Photoshop CS3
Flash CS3
Visual Studio 2008
Movies (Lot of WinRAR)

So i am not looking for a card as powerful as 8800GT, Processor Q6600 is what i am bending towards. I prefer having a lot of RAM, 4GB or 8GB something like that......will having more than 4 GB of RAM cause performance problems ? (bcoz of software ?)

Hey anyone knows when Q9450 Series will be released by intel ?

I also heard that Intel is cutting the price of processors (65 nm) by some 50% form 20th of april. Anyone heard this ?

Get 8600GT if that's the case, its around half that price. The remaining value can be added for the RAM. RAM > 4 GB would be good and wouldn't give issues, but its wise to use a 64 bit OS along with it.
