Pc under 6k!!!!

People now this might seem some odd but i really want a configuration under or max. 6k:shock:.actually a friend of mine wants to but a computer just for his school projects and assignments.he justs wants to do word,powerpoint etc.he just wants a basic comp. with monitor,keyboard,mouse with the configuration.even a p4 or intel atom would do.he lives in delhi so he would buy all the things from nehru place.

I don't think it is possible including the monitor. Even a basic CRT will cost you around 2 to 2.5K. Without Monitor I can make it happen.
My suggestion will be opt for an old system purchase. You may a get a good setup within 6K.

@vickybat-thanks for the link but it is impossible to buy as the person selling is living in mumbai.
@piyush-but still any configuration is possible.

would the old pentium 4's with the 428 socket can be fitted in the budget.

now i think that it would be really imbossible to fit any config. in that budget.i'll ask him if he can raise it to upto 12k.

Now that DDR3 Compatibility has been restored,
I strongly recommend atleast AMD Athlon II X2 250 @ 2.6K instead of Sempron 120.

But either way, Man 6K is no way for new pc ;)

Buddy i think you should wait for amd zacate barebones. An e-350 based platform might suit your needs and you might build a good pc within 10k.

i second vicky here.
zacate platforms like asrock e350 m1 acc. to a review in toms hardware costs 100$. dont know about india. pretty much good for normal work and movies and everyday computing. dont underestimate the bobcat cores :)..

zacate will cost more than atom based barebones. but maybe the single core 1Ghz with a extremely basic mobo will cost around 4k.
