Ans: Win 7 ultimate 64 bit

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1TB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor?

Ans: Yes, LED ! I want samsung or Sony's . 24" or 26" ( not less than 22 inches)

7. Which components I DON'T want to buy?

Ans: I wanna buy whole PC.. including every single stuff. ( well, I saw alienware's keyboard on eBay.in in 5800/- , So I want to buy that, If it doesn't worth to buy, please suggest )

8. When am I planning to buy the system?
Ans: As soon as you give me the final Configs.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?

Ans: Yes, I have idea. But I am not expert .. If someone give me advice than I will do it myself .. otherwise assembler !
I will prefer my technical head of the college!

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?

Ans: Living in Bangalore, there is a street called SP road. we can get everything in cheaper rate, cz they are saving taxes ..
Although I can order online also ..
I am comfortable with anytihng

11. Anything else which you would like to say?

I would prefer nVidia Quadro graphic cards, cz in my college they prefer that and advice that only ..
If you have better graphic card in the same price of quadro .. Please suggest, and why is it better ?

and also, what if I buy i7 extreme processor..
I dont really know whats the diff. b/w normal i7 ..
please suggest if it suits to my budget

will 32 GB RAM be available .. or suits to my budget ?
if yes please suggest that. But DON'T compromise that to the graphic card.

Ok here goes your config:

The above config will suit your needs in every possible way.
The processor is hyperthreaded and is an ardent multitasker. Will be a great help in rendering.

The monitor i've suggested sports an ips panel which is terrific for your work. It will produce accurate colour.

For the gpu, its you who has to decide what you can go for. I've suggested a 7970 because you have mentioned gaming. If you gonna go for workstation card like nvidia quadro or amd firepro, you have to kiss gaming goodbye.

7970 will offer best of both worlds but as far as i've heard gaming cards have lower precision in floating point operations than workstation cards. Since 7970 is based on amd's latest architecture codenamed GCN, reviews had shown that its has terrific compute power.

The very fact that you need gaming I would too suggest to go for the 7970.
Workstation card = no gaming possible.

^^ Well i'm not keen to recommend wireless kb/mouse for a gaming & work desktop. It isn't required. You need them in an htpc where you have to sit far from the display/system and watch movies.

If he wants cheaper combo, then he can go for any wired alternative ones.

actually I wanted 32 GB in starting but as I heard that 8GB RAM in Single Slot has not launched yet, so maximum I can put 16 GB.

what do you say ? If I go for that, will I have to change any config. that you suggested ( according to the cabinet ) ?

I am not saying that I won't play games. I like COD MW2 extremely ..

Because in animation industry .. ALL the industries prefer quadro.
I asked my technicle head today, he answered that its bcz quadro gives faster rendering than other graphic card. So I would suggest you guys, if you are suggesting a graphic card for an animator .. please suggest this.

Don't go for circle. Stick with corsair 400R and if you can spend a bit more, then go for haf 922.

Look mate, quadro won't run any games at all cause its restricted from driver level. They are strictly for professional usage and i guess you know this better.

What if I buy 16GB RAM ?
the same RAM as you suggested .. 4x4 slots?

I am getting a little confused in it. But want to buy 16 GB. :mrgreen:

Now a days Nvidia Quadro cards can run games well, not as good as their respective Desktop Gaming counterparts, but are able to handle them.

go for 922 instead of storm...it is mainly gaming cabi...922 is high air flow(haf) cabi...so ur components will be cooled....
regarding d proccy....u may go 4 i7 2700k..its latest nd hv slightly tweaked arcitecture....grt 4 oc....u may also go for i7 xtreme proccy if it permit ur budget....i7 3820....bt i sggst it only bcz u get 2 use x79 mobo...which hv 8 ram slots nd r more advanced than z68...bt remember..i7 2700k outperforms 3820 by a small mergin...
if u want raw performance, u hv to use ssd as ur primary drive...60gb will suffice...ocz vertex or corsair force 3 will set u back for a 5.5k...but u will see nd feel(!) d difference....as for ur secondary drive, go for western digital black..its a bit costly(7k maybe 4 1tb)...but performs like hell...
as 4 ur mobo..gigabytes r cool...but u may also go for asus p8z68 v pro...its d best in d market in z68 mobos...nd asus hv a name for reliability...
as for ur ram...NEVER go for any high profile ram like corsair vengeance....they rocks in performance..but they can be real pain in d a** if u plan to use any large tower cooler(trust me...i'm a victim)....ripzaws r fine although a teensy slow in per4mnce...u wont feel a thing though...
go for thermalright silver arrow(3.7k) or noctua nh-d14(5k) for ur cpu cooler...
its about that...

acc. to you I am going for 922 HAF

and processor i7 2700k
x79 is having 8 ram slots which I want, But the processo you suggested me gets slow down with this motherboard according to you!

for this SSD and all that .. I don't want to get messed up in that. Also those are out my budget.

CPU cooler you suggested are cool

But which is suitable for me, I don't know. You confused me by suggesting two.
Thermalright silver arrow is good and suits to my budget.

^^ Mate don't get confused. Its upto you to choose the cabinet that's visually cooler to your eyes. I find corsair 400R bang for the buck at 4.9k. Going for haf or trooper will let you have to spend more on them. So if you can spend more then go for one which you like.

Stick with 2600k. 2700k has a bit higher clockspeed and you can overclock 2600k to improve performance always. Stick with noctua air coolers. They are terrific.

Skip ssd now and go for that at a later stage.

Just get the config i've suggested and get the cabinet of your choice. You are good to go with these.

get a better psu corsair tx 850
& mother board asus vpro gen3/gigabyte z68gd4-b3
rest go with vicky suggestions
except keyboard mouse combo a cheaper one will do Logitech mk320

If you just remove the 7970 and add a quadro 4000, then 14k will be added to your overall budget. The rest are good enough to go with.

Stick with ips panels for better output quality. The psu is extremely good. Actually seasonic is the
oem of corsair. Corsair tx 850 v2 and seasonic ss 850 AT are same. Go for the cheaper one.

i suggest you taking corsair cabinets and psu i have it too and its reliable to ..... ihave corsair 500v2 psu and cabinet but with your buget you can buy good cabinets of corsiar
and cooler master but i suggest you not taking cooler master cabinets.... i have one to and it was burnt.....but it is your choice
