Ok, this is not really a technology news, but take a look at the sales at TigerDirect.

1.5 TB Drive - $ 130
Corsair 2 GB Dual Channel DDR2 800MHz - $ 10
BFGTech GTX280 - $325
Acer 22" Widescreen Monitor - $ 170 (I got my 24" Dell for INR 28,000)

I just feel like saying two words to the phimosis afflicted mc/bc Indian importers, customs and distributors. In keeping with the forum etiquette I obviously won't, but I guess you all know the words already.

If you need to feel some more pain and helplessness with all the screwing that the Indian marketing system is doing with us, start surfing through the deals at www.newegg.com and www.tigerdirect.com. Agitation guranteed.

P.S. Sorry about the long image. Reduced the size to 600 KB-ish.

when we will get all these stuff at this rates

Never. As long as you are in India, never. You can avail these rates once you are in the U.S.

F&*^*& on our TAx System

I'm not sure if it's the TAX system entirely. Consider the Core i7 920. Costs 300 dollars in the U.S. and 300 dollars here too. I wonder why Intel components don't suffer the price hike?

Maybe because in the case of most other components, we have the mc/bc people in between ......distributors, bulk importers, the incestous scoundrels called "customs" at the airports etc.

This thread should be deleted. Its causing AAARS (acute anger and rage syndrome) to me and several other readers.

You're right. I stopped surfing those sites. Leads to a lot of frustration. I can't get over the fact that one has to pay Rs. 28,000 for a GTX260 core216 model here when it costs 11k in U.S. Like I said, not fair.

Well, there's a reason why TG and other big resellers can afford to let go of old stuff at such cheap rates. It's a proven fact that more than 50% of the buyers either forget to mail in the rebate forms or submit them without the required documentation.
You don't actually buy that at $9.99, but rather $49.99. Even if TG has to give out checks worth $40 after 6-8 weeks to say, 40% of all the folks who've bought these RAM sticks, they're still in the black.
As much as I'd love to see the rebate system introduced in India, I think it'd be a herculean task for most (if not all) Indian retailers and shop keepers to keep tabs on it all.

P.S.: That 8GB SDHC card is quite expensive actually. I got mine for $12.

Actually, its all not taxing system that we get such prices in "India, its lack of Competitin also that make IT companies to sell their product at a very high prices.
