why you people are not considering Wildfire S as an option,it is also a very good(according to me the best phone in the budget)

But inferior to Defy in every area. and it lacks 3rd party ROMs. and it is NOT the best phone in the budget.

Wow many people are are suggesting Defy , i also like its looks the most .
While searching for reviews on youtube i found a very interesting video comparing spice mi410 , defy , samsung ace and acer phones .
This is not a complete review but shows couple of tests and features . As spice has better hardware it was obivously on top of most tests but what surprised me that even the ace pawned the defy in many tests . I know these are just tests but it does say something
Note : Video is in thai not english but you can see the tests . Also spice is called Wellcom a99 in thailand and Ace is called cooper .

Whatever the video says , i am still inclined towards the defy but slightly confused , also i forgot to mention that i will be using the phone for atleast 1.5 years .

^^ Defy upgraded to Froyo is just as fast as Ace. And it has better built quality and good ROMs. Defy is full value for money...

I saw the video... unbelievable...

The 1 GHz Scorpion processor based Spice Mi 410 scored 59 fps in Neocore. Ace scores 53 fps while Defy scored only 42 fps...

And my overclocked-modded Optimus One gives me 60+ fps in neocore everytime and 1500+ in Quadrant advanced...

This is unbelievable...

Just buy an Optimus One bro... and install CM7 and overclock it. Your performance would be awesome...

LMFAO!... My battery life is Awe-freaking-some... 24 hours easily with heavy usage...

but remember neo core or similar benchmark doesn't guarantee better gaming performance.

also overclocking rarely increases battery drain. most of the time battery drain is negligible.

Ace scores more thanks to HALF the screen resolution

It's 480x320 for ACE v/s 800x480 for the rest, so we are talking LESS THAN HALF screen resolution for the ACE, yet performance isn't double , it's still less (it's using Adreno 200, same as XCD 35)

Defy scores lower thanks to slower GPU, yes the Power VR SGX 530 is somewhat a SANDVICH, something like this:

Performance wise:
1. Adreno 205
2. Power VR SGX 530
3. Adreno 200

Got myself a phone today , went to the store to purchase the motorola defy but how many times does it happens that you go shopping for something and end up getting something else !
Got a very good deal on Samsung Galaxy S i9000 from my local dealer for Rs 21500 , i hope its not much . I checked the defy first , looks were good but it was lacking some wow factor . Then he showed me the Galaxy S i9000 and i fell in love with the super bright 4' display . I also checked the htc desire priced at Rs16800 but it couldnt beat the galaxy s . Sadly he didnt have the spice mi410 with him . I went with Rs 15000 with me and so had to swipe the remaining amount from my credit card . I hope it wasnt a bad deal since i also got a free scratch gaurd .
This thread was not at all a waste and actually helped me a lot to buy my first android .
My only concern is the lack of flash for the camera otherwise everything looks good .

It has Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair) !!!! Looks like a very old piece !
I will do the upgrading myself through Kies tomorrow before adding anything else .
