Bond, Desi Bond!
here is a short compilation of funny comments made by these two trolls :

napster : so please b4 attcking someones thread next time, consider that fact that ppl over come here to actually ask for favors in helping them buy a gadget and not for a show of ur personal EGO and hatred against NOKIA. Yes the symbain is gettin slowly phased out, but it KICKED ass, and as far as i'm concerned it still has some juice left in it.
napster : I'm no ambassador of NOKIA as i bought my bro a samsung monte with capacitive touch day b4, but i am smart enough to realize that at 12-13k even without a capacitive touch, it beats all models of samsung in the same range hands down.
napster : Please read the topic of the forum! He needs a phone in 12k, android phones just only start begening form that range or if i am not wrong a bit higher. Maybe a few do come, but they are all entry level, correct me if i am wrong.
napster : Yes the latest platform is the android and its fast and blah blah blah, and if i had the cash and all, "we" don need ppl like u to tell me to get the android platform, even the uneducated shpkeeper knows that and he can well guide us through!

neeraj: Can you compare the sound quality of Samsung phones with Nokia ?? If you're than there is no point in explaining further.
neeraj: 65K Colors of Spica vs TFT Touchscreen, 16M Colors of Nokia 5800xm...lol
neeraj: No its about 3G of spica and HSDPA- 3.6 Mbps of nokia 5800 ??
neeraj: No way you can compare Spica with 5800XM music quality..no way dude..wake up....No way Spica music quality can be compared with 5800XM..lol Now you're really makine laugh. (note: neeraj IMO haven't tested Spica's audio quality and his assumption is based on brand name)

a quote from gsmarena on audio quality of Spica

The Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica is not only pretty loud with hearphones connected but also capable of providing high quality audio output.
The cut-off extreme bass frequencies and the higher-than-average intermodulation distortion are its only shortcommings but none of them is too bad actually. And the rest of the readings are just great and comparable to the best in class.
source: *www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i5700_galaxy_spica-review-465p5.php
and our neeraj without even trying the phone came to conclusion that these two phones are galaxies apart in audio quality. now, should I say lol?

neeraj: 5800xm rocks..and you're telling me about the andriod market ?? If you have really tried and compared it with Nokia ovi..Andriod is just copying stuff and games from OVI [should I say megaLOL here?]
neeraj: Still there are many things missing from android which Symbian has like Python Support.wonder how long it would take to catchup
neeraj: I would kick Symbian for Android or iPhone anyday. But sticking because of the value it gives me.
neeraj: using 5800 and its got every feature a modern smart-phone should have
neeraj: 8 gb onboard memory (5800XM)

napster: Leave it dude... i figured out from his first reply that this harsha guy cant get plain English
neeraj: Sums up.. @napster007 you are right my friend..I don't blame them fools..but everyone here has his own knowledge and experience

The final two comments really really make me scratch my head.

There are many such SYmbian users who moved to Android and iphone OS platforms and are happy customers now.

I used to go gaa gaa over Symbian S60 and 5800XM and in fact I recommended this phone to many. But not now. This is not Nokia's time. Also, am eagerly waiting to see how N8/S^3 does. It's a new platform and I can't suggest it to users till it looks stable. And till that time, it's Android/iPhone FTW! :)

ok I admit I am one of those early symbian lover :p..

I used to gaga over symbian phones specially Nokia..

at those times I had a N73 and I just loved every bit of it the speaker sound the cam quality, apps and everything.. It got damaged somehow and I moved on to Samsung I450 the crappiest symbian phone I know !!!..

That time samsung was a newbie to symbian world and nokia had it all but samsung truly got its setup done fast and now I personally rate it as the best Company for making products for the masses..

just compare the OMNIA HD with N97.. I used N97 and said ewww people going mad over this piece of crap..

My friend got omnia HD recently that phone has one of the crappiest UI after using android/iphone I am telling this.. but the phone is better than then the N97 in every case and it outperforms the iphone screen quality which used to be rated the best having the same resolution as spica :)

The SPB Shell which was released for symbian made the UI GOOD though :)

but I will still rate it just ok.. Nokia lacks innovation they are just making what they made back then.. removing 1 feature at a time in phone and renaming model names thats innovation for them..

Android is the future OS.. and it will have the widest support and number of apps in the coming future..

Symbian sucks when it comes to UI.. it is just a basic smartphone..

move to windows/android/osx and know what UI is..

people who are comparing capacitive touch with resistive are nuts and should get a life seriously :)..

Samsung is beating nokia in every price segment I know..

except for the 5230 range.. But I still like the corby more if you don't need a smartphone :)

Getting to the first post Get the Spica.. Literally 5800 is nothing infront of it :) (Someone up for a debate should get there facts straight before responding to this point.. except the higher reso and speaker sound there is nothing good in the 5800 and its screen quality is also just ok )

@Neeraj & napstar,
What is wrong with you guys?Almost everyone posted in this thread have or had 5800 and we all loved it,it has a nice screen, good s.q etc.etc.and above all it was probably the best vfm phone till couple of months ago.But at present spica is definitely a better option.
1.o.s. android is miles ahead of symbian, specially with touch screen.I used 5800 for about a year but still cannot remember the single and double tap thing.
2.screen resolution and display:Well,I hope you have seen iphone ,which has a resolution lesser than 5800,but does it make iphone`s display any inferior to 5800?My point is ,at a display of 3.2 inches normal human eye cannot differentiate a minor change of resolution.Same goes with colour support,16M colour only produces some difference in shades of black which is appreciable with human eye, other colour enhancements are negligible(even if you compare with 65k)
3.Music and sound quality:This is interesting.Sound quality of 5800 is good but it is probably a tad bright at places, where as spica gives you a balanced rather neutral sound,so for a casual listner 5800 may sound marginally better, but with an headphone amp.spica should sound better(i am not 100% sure as I have not tested it with an amp,but almost all neutral sounding players behave this way)
Do not really want to talk about the hardware part,it is available all over internet, and hardware wise nokia sucks as usual.
The only thing that goes in 5800`s side is that, it has a proper 16:9 aspect ratio(I hope you know why is it important)
And finally, DO NOT argue with Bond or Sriharsh when it come to mobile phones, they really know what they are talking about.

Hi All & Thread starer :),

Few days back, I bought Samsung Galaxy Spica and I was quite much impressed with its features for that money. I was planning to buy a mobile from last december and finally got this one. My budget was upto 25K, though I got this one for its Value for Money. And I am completely satisfied till now. (Hope the same in future)

Thanks God, I was not a nokia fan right from the days of 3310. :) Earlier SE Fan :)

But I went for ROKR E6 3 years back... and totally satisfied with it.. (Completely loaded google maps of chennai, ilock, mplayer which can play avi, vob, .... xmms, dos, :D)
@Desi bond: Hope u remember our healthy discussion abt ROKR E6 that time. And Sure, few more bought E6 that time seeing the thread. (Sorry for off-topic) :D

And later was Windows Mobile Fan.. and so went for HTC... and was not that much satisfied with it.. Got touch the first week of its launch :) lot of bugs and unstable one... :(

I dislike Nokia for its lack of innovation skills.. and I hate ppl going blindly saying a brand name.. Grrrrrrrrrr!! :D

I see, samsung is giving great value for money, ofcourse they have to increase quality of their build, service.. :( But I feel, samsung is there to survive and get their business growing.. (I am not sure of Nokia, lets see how their Maemo comes...)

@Thread Starter,
But dont go for Galaxy i7500.. I felt few months back its great buy for its OLED display, 8gB onboard memory.. But its not. :(

But, I dont feel Galaxy spica i5700 wont suit every one. Its good for multimedia features, Browsing, modding, as a smart phone. But not for the ones who use the mobile as mobile:D

And Dont ever trust shop keepers. Decide it in www. And then go, Get it.

My salute for i9000 Galaxy... Best specification i wuld say... if ts priced below 28K... it wil surely have a great market here...

My vote for Galaxy Spica.. :)

(All above, To my sense :) )
Hope so, many Geeks will feel the same :D

It can be a healthy discussion, but was given many contradicting thoughts... :???:

I was a mute spectator of this forum for the past 1 year or so... But xploded Now:D

I feel, they too surely will come out of Nokia circle.. in few year time.. :)

@ganesh yes. my root e6 still live. it was a phone that was awesome for nodding etc but its keypad was a big drawback. and yes, I do remember those discussions. apps, custom ROMs etc. and similar discussions are happening at few threads like Spica iPhone and Android threads.

For all those who still feel Nokia and Symbian are the best.
I used to be on your boat since i bought 6600>>N72 >>N73. When Android came out, I was like " LOL yet another OS only to be doomed with in a year or so. No one can beat Symbian". Been thinking my friends' 5800 the best value for money smartphone with best touch experience.
Then happened to experience "star". Touch, though being resistive is so much better and haptic feedback was some thing i was really impressed.

An year later here I am using an android "spica". Need less to say how I feel now.

Guys, If you have experienced android or iphone ever in your life and still feel Nokia and its three legged symbian are the best. Kudos to you. Nokia owe to you guys.

Nokia should change with changing times. I hope they are in right direction with symbian^4. After spica, My frnd's N97 (bought at 30K bucks) looks so stupid.

Hmmm...

Yeah Ok, But my dislike is mainly because, even if a average product comes from them it sells more, just for name NOKIA.. (Though its my personal thought... )

this guy @napster claims to have used C6, even posted the launch date as 15th july in this thread,
On the contrary he still inquires about the launch date and he actually started a thread( *bit.ly/9bKEPB ) before this that he heard about some C6 being launched and wants to know about the price and availability ;)

^^ hahaha... some ppl will just do anythin to prove they are smart

after a point i stopped reading neerajvohra n napster007... total useless info they are providing!

@desibond & sriharsha: we know who are genuine ppl around here so dont worry about what the 'pretending to be smart' ppl say... as i m too planning to move 2 android (as my nokia fever has come down :p) between spica & galaxy which is a better performer? and is android 2.1 upgrade available for both?

I would say Spica, because even though Galaxy has a gorgeous AMOLED display and 5MP cam, sadly Samsung stopped upgrades for Galaxy. So you're kind of stuck with 1.5 on Galaxy.

If Galaxy had 2.1 then no doubt I would suggested to ignored the 800Mhz processor of Spica :p and go for Galaxy. Battery issues were a rumor, I checked my friend's Galaxy for a day, by killing background tasks , and battery life is comparable to Spica.

I would say Spica with 2.1 for now and looking at samsung's firmware support history, I'm not sure whether they come up with 2.2 for Spica or not.

This might sound like an anti-climax after all this ;), but if you can strech your budget, then go for HTC's Android phones. Reason, better support from both company and custom ROM's,MODS from communities.

Hi,

No i7500 doesnt have 2.1 update!!

I personally used Both i5700 and i7500...

i5700 vs i7500
TFT - OLED
Capacitive Touch - Resistive Touch
less than 200MB - 8GB Onboard Memory
More RAM - Less RAM (Not sure of exact size)
3.2. MP - 5MP Camera
No LED Flash - LED Flash
800MHz - 528MHz Procy
Newer Architecture Procy/Board - Old
Divx Support - No by default

Go for Spica... I like the Display of I7500 and its 8GB Memory. But its slow.. :(
Touch sensitivity is Very Good in Spica.
