1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Need for mostly multitasking.
The apps needed to run are Visual Studio, Netbeans, Database servers, Browsers and some video editing apps. Some light gaming is also desired.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 15K - 18K [Not more than 18k]

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: Already have a HDD. So not needed

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: No

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Monitor, HDD, RAM

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Within next week

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Will assemble myself

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Chandigarh

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I need strictly AMD based system, preferably A-Series because I don't want to have a dedicated graphics card right now. That may be added at later time.
Things I need are :
- Processor
- Motherboard [ I've heard a lot about ASUS ]
- Cabinet + PSU [ Good Ventilation and Spacious is a must ]
- DVD Writer
- UPS

Well, that thread is only for the purpose of programming stuff rig. This one is different from that and is strictly AMD based. In that thread, I have settled with Intel but this one I need for an AMD A-Series rig with light gaming and video editing support in addition.
Please let it be a different thread.
Besides the thread you mentioned has a total ~15K budget for whole system which I have extended a bit but for current thread, I need only Processor, Motherboard, UPS, DVD Writer and Cabinet. Monitor, HDD and RAM are excluded in current thread and the mentioned budget is for the things I require.
Why a new thread as you already have one for same??

Okay, no problem. So you want two different system to build or this is the same rig with changed requirements?

I hope the RAM you are suppose to use is a DDR-III and having good clock speed (like 1600 MHz :p or more) and its at-least or more than 4 GB.

Here is something you may try.

AMD FX8120 (8 core processor :D) @ Rs. 9,500.00
GA-880GM-USB3 @ Rs. 5,000.00
Cabinet + PSU (iBall) @ Rs. 1,500.00
DVD RW LG @ Rs. 800.00
UPS Local @ Rs. 1,400.00
Total => Rs. 18k

Avoiding APU since your type of work is more processor hungry rather GPU or in this case APU which is more of a gaming performance and HTPC setup :p

The said motherboard is having on board ATI Radeon HD 4250 GPU, more than enough for your need I guess :). Once again, I hope you have ample amount of RAM since this GPU at-least will eat up 512 MB as iGP share :p

protip : with APU's use the fastest RAM that is possible. try looking for a 2100Mhz kit, if you get it in decent price, or settle for a 1600Mhz kit at the least.

APU's benefit best from high RAM frequency

Yeah I already have a DDR 3 RAM for this rig and is of 1600MHz.

Thanks doomgiver for the tip. I will keep this in mind.

The processor is kinda of overkill for this budget and Use.

@Tech_Wiz
Thanks mate, but if you think this processor to be overkill, then what do you suggest instead of this one?

I think FX-8120 is not overkill, instead it will serve you for long. But if you can arrange some money, get the FX-8350, currently available around 11.5K in Nehru place. Belive me, the performance you'll get with it is untouchable at the same price point.

@Cilus
Thanks Cilus,
And would the "GA-880GM-USB3" motherboard work with this FX-8350 processor? or do you have any other suggestion?

And one more thing, I need a good ventilated and spacious Cabinet. Please also do suggest some models regarding this. I will try to extend the budget a bit because spacious cabinet and ventilation is also a requirement for me.

^^ Don't even think of doing that mate. Its a real bad idea to pair 125w amd fx cpu's with a board having a 4+1 phase VRM design.
Avoid that board at all costs for 8350.

Instead get Asus M5A97 or Gigabyte 970 UD3. Both should be below 7k. Asus one is easily available and retails at 6.5k.

If you want a better cabinet, then try NZXT Source elite 210 or Bitfenix merc alpha.

BitFenix Merc Alpha - BitFenix: Flipkart.com

Finally, 8350 is a real great choice considering you'll be running database servers. I assume its MYSQL community server or Oracle 11g.

The FX-8120 is not that bad either in terms of performance : price ratio. I dont disagree with looking for FX-8350 but rather I would think for spending more with RAM since in multi-tasking, a lot of memory is too needed :p

Local cabinets are not bad, look for a large one with option to install FAN, since if you want a std branded Cabinet, the casing alone will cost you Rs. 2000 for options like Cooler Master 210 or such.

However, try the iBall series for their Cabinet + PSU combo since you are looking for a budget system :)

Buy some computer FANs, they are available of different size :) fit them accordingly the exhaust sections of the cabinet.

Try the iBall "ENTRY-LEVEL (STD FORM)" series.

Rams can be added down the line. But processor is a one time investment.
