my usb data transfer rate is slower

when i connecting my usb there is one menu bar appears and shows that you are connecting the high speed usb.but your usb-hub is not faster.what can i do?

check your motherboard manual whether it has USB2 compliant usb controller. If yes then make sure you have xp-sp2 installed.
If no then you may need to purchase a pci-card having usb2 ports.

This prob occurs when you connect to a comp that is oldie. Most of the times, I have faced this problem, I used to use the USB port at the rear. Do try the rear ports if you were using the front port.
