MY mobile won't connect to PC

Guys 'n' Gals,
A month or so ago I tried to plug my Sony Ericsson W580i into my PC (XP SP2) to do something. The PC said it was being charged but the PC seems to have no linking that it's connected. I can't force it to pick it up when it can't see anything there at all. I've not been able to connect it to the PC since.
Can anyone suggest what might (not) be happening?

Please be a bit more specific. Had you connected in File Transfer Mode or Phone Mode? For connecting in Phone Mode you should have first installed its drivers from the CD. Anyways, the phone must still be connectable in File Transfer Mode...

Connect your phone
In phone select File Transfer Mode

if it is not connected then:
1. u dont put memory stick
2. USB Port or USB Cable problem
3. u log in as Limited User
