Bond, Desi Bond!
Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 7 is right on track for release in 2010. Concomitantly with the leaked details associated with Windows 7 Milestone 1 dropped by the Redmond company to select partners in January 2008, a potential timetable for the availability of the successor of Windows Vista was also made public. According to the leaked information on the next iteration of the Windows platform, having just reached M1, the final version of Windows 7 was to be wrapped up the end of 2009.

Officially, the Redmond company has only been saying that

Windows 7 development would take an estimated three-year timeframe. However, Microsoft always failed to specify the moment when the three-year timeframe started. The debut of Windows 7 development was indeed connected with the release of Windows Vista, but this aspect only contributed to the confusion because the latest Windows client was launched to businesses in November 2006 and to the general public in January 2007. So in this context, the finalization of Windows 7 could just as easily be aimed for the end of 2009, as well as 2010.

Well, this is no longer the case. Microsoft explained that it would deliver Windows 7 three years after the consumers launch of Vista. "We are currently in the planning stages for Windows 7 and development is scoped to three years from Windows Vista Consumer GA. The specific release date will be determined once the company meets its quality bar for release," a Microsoft spokesperson revealed to Softpedia via email.

Windows Vista Consumer GA means nothing more than the general availability of the operating system. In this regard, Microsoft has merely reconfirmed what it has in fact said since mid 2007, that Windows 7 is planned for 2010. Recently, the Redmond company has delivered a build of Windows 7 for review to the U.S. antitrust regulators. This was made public via the "Joint status report on Microsoft's compliance with the final judgments."

I contacted Microsoft and asked whether the new version of Windows 7 was still M1 or if the company has reached Milestone 2 (M2). The leaked timetable for Windows 7 had M1 set to expire in March, and M2 to be delivered in March/April. Outside of the confirmation quoted above, Microsoft did not comment on Windows 7 M1, M2 or the potential antitrust issues that would be generated by the connecting of Windows 7 with Windows Live Wave 3.

Nothing new in this article! Everybody knew that the previous M1 build was genuine!
And they have learnt the lesson that never let your own product reach such heights as would make it difficult to bring back to ground. They wont go beyond 3 years this time for sure.

Releasing new edition of Windows before 2010 is not practical for them because Vista is still not that successful. Moreover with early release, Vista users may feel cheated.

what I think is, Vista is designed for better computing (security, interface, connectivity.....), and windows7 will be concerned for gaming platform.

Arrrgh...Another Windows!!!:( And we have not yet got the fill of Windows Vista, which is not so fast as XP and requires high machine specs to run.:(...Suppose this will require a quad core processor and 4GB RAM to run with all it's glory?:(

MS releases its OS every 3 years. With the exception of Vista which can be understood from the fact that Win XP SP2 was considered to be a new OS.

Dont worry , it will take time. And till that vista will be all settled. Like Vista also took almost 5 years.

No i do not thing so as if one can't really say that user stand alone Operating Systems are better for a particular application and fails for the rest. The thing goes wrong when Microsoft released Vista, as it had no improvement than Windows XP except that it eats a lot of your System RAM.

I think this time Microsoft is has tried to bring about a lot of changes in its latest Windows 7 OS which many more enhanced features for both Security and also better UI.

One important feature which Windows 7 tried and implemented in Windows 7 is the Action Center which provides the place of all the Security Center pop-ups and messages at one place and can be solved with a single click. MS is also trying to contact its partner to use the API so that the users could be free from the annoying Security Center pup-ups.

So i give full credit to Windows 7. Good Luck MS.

I do think MS will release the Marketed version of Windows 7 after March, 2010 as Windows 7 RC(Release Candidate) expires after this date officially.

If the scriptures cannot help all people in all conditions at all times, of what use, then, are such scriptures? If the scriptures show the way to only the monk and not to the householder, then what need has a householder for such one-sided scriptures? If the scriptures can only help people when they give up all work and retire into the forests, and cannot show the way of lighting the lamp of hope in the hearts people of the workaday world--in the midst of their daily toil, disease, misery, and poverty, in the despondency of the penitent, in the self-reproach of the downtrodden, in the terror of the battlefield, in lust, anger and pleasure, in the joy of victory, in the darkness of defeat, and finally, in the dreaded night of death--then weak humanity has no need at all of such scriptures, and such scriptures will be no scriptures at all!

wtf is this???? spammer
