Calling TDF techies,

Lets get this super-awesome tech demo from Epic about their ground-breaking and stunning new visual Engine UE4 and experience colossal graphic prowess in our own PC rather than watching it in compromising you-tube uploads. We'd best use the built in FPS counter to bench our GPUs as well to see how well it'll do games with it in future.

  • Download the demo from *www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2368/unreal-engine-4-elemental-tech-demo/
  • Extract the package using something like 7zip
  • You may have to install the Visual C++ 2013 redist runtime (vcredist2013_x64.exe for 64-bit CPUs or vcredist2013_x86.exe for 32-bit CPUs)
  • Navigate to Elemental > Binaries, and then choose the right folder for your CPU (probably Win64)
  • Run Elemental.exe
  • If you get stuck, Alt-F4 should close the demo

Post your FPS scores :D

dont use fraps man, there is a inbuilt FPS marker. REad the instructions. Wait...

here try these

"When the demo is running, use tilde ~ to open up the console. Stat FPS shows the FPS counter. SetRes 1920x1080 (or whatever) lets you set the resolution. For other settings, such as vsync, you need to visit Elemental > Saved > Config > WidnowsNoEditor and edit GameUserSettings.ini."

Yes UE 4 is awesome. Lightings & some other new features are great. New Blueprint system is also good.
But $20/mo :(
Lets see how is Unity 5...

For Clarity : The benchmarks are telling that the GPU is faster than a 7950 at stock, and similar to a 660ti.

Benchmark for UE4
will try it soon

Have you tried it ?

@ALL,

If anyone is still interested to post benchmarks to see how your current rig will fair against the upcoming titles with UE-4 can download the package, from the link in the first post and share the details after running it.

Please mention GPU, minimum and maximum frame rates you are getting while running at 1920*1080 with v-sync off.
