Is it worth to update from Phenom II 955 to FX8350 in 3 to 4 months down the line?

Both BIOSTAR 990FXE and Asrock 990FX-Extreme 4 come with only 4+1 VRM Phase and analogue Phase control system. As a result they are not at all recommended for the overclocking of the highest end 8 CORE CPU. Don't get those boards.

I don't think I would ever go for CLI/Crossfire so If I go for 970 chipset, then how is Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 which comes with 8+2 VRM. Its available for 6.6k from SMC.

The board has a superb build quality and the reviews are also good but if you look around different forum you will find some issues regarding the BIOS, especially with the CPU voltage settings. It was unnecessarily increasing the CPU Voltage to a higher value by overriding the value set in BIOS. I am not sure whether it has been fixed with their new BIOS updates. My suggestion will be the Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0. Price is around 7K and it has superb build quality and very good and stable BIOS option to play with.
