Is buying a second hand smartphone from a local dealer is ok ??

Hi everyone..
I'm planning to buy a "HTC One" black from a local dealer which is one month used in 33k with original bill. There is always a risk in buying 2nd hand so what are the things i should check before buying ? The battery is non removal of htc one. so is there any heating or other issues of this smartphone?
If this is not a wise choice then which smartphone(better lasting wise) is best in 34k ? i can't extend this budget any more.....
I'm a bit scared so plz help me guys.!!

If buying a new phone, Sony Xperia Z is your best bet.

One month used HTC One with bill @ 33k seems to be good option. Check its bill properly for original date of purchase. Check the phone for scratches & damages. Since its second hand, use the phone for few minutes in the shop, check if everything is working......like camera(front n rear), loudspeaker, insert a SIM n make a call if possible to check earpiece........etc. There is some code to check the sensors n all :

*#*#0842#*#* – Device test (Vibration test and BackLight test)
*#*#3424#*#* = HTC Function Test program (It has many tests)

I copied these from internet, so try these tests
If its good, then go for it. Moreover you have warranty, so you can get it repaired free of cost if something goes wrong

After getting your phone, do a factory reset & update it to Android 4.2

Since we are on the topic of 2nd hand phones, does anyone know such shops in Bangalore where we can either buy a 2nd hand phone or sell an used phone? I wanna sell my Nokia N500, but so far no luck.
