my laptop hp pavilion dv6 1110ax crashed a few days back and began behaving weirdly and i decided to format the hard disk completely and install ubuntu 12.04 on it.. first i used a bootable sdxc card and then a dvd. During both instances after a few minutes into the installation i received the following error
"installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk
[errno 5] input/output error"
"this is often due to a faulty cd/dvd disk or drive, or a faulty hard disk............."
my hard disk status shows 'a few bad sectors found' when i r
un 'disk utility' program while logged in at live ubuntu session
