i m using RHEL5 and when i install the OS it comes with Firefox 1.5
now while installing firefox 3 i download the tar frm mozilla website and run the file firefox.sh

it opens firefox and asks me to set it as default browser. once i do it as a root user i dont face any issues.

now whn i add users to the system and they open it frm the icon on the system tray the /usr/bin/htmlview to which it points opens FF1.5 and not FF3

how can i change the html view to point to FF3 for all users. same for Open Office.
the icon on the taskbar points to OO 2.4 whn i v installed OO3

any clues? the firefox one is very imp to me.

I think changing the location of Firefox 1.5 with your package manager and symbolic linking FF3 to that original location should do the trick.

Go to Preferred Apps under Preferences, select Custom for Web Browser and enter the path to the folder containing the executable in command box.
