Hello guys

I always wonder at what level a person can go to get a job. Many people leave job for any reason mainly being to start their own business, or family problem. now if the business works its ok, but when it does not say after spending around 1 to 2 year or more than that, and you go back to job hunting. how can you hide or cover it.

one of my friend who is very smart and a good worker, started his business and after around 2 year, he gave up and now looking for job, but its getting very hard for him to even get shortlisted.

guys please help here, what is your take on this and if you ever successfully heed gap in your resume and got job.

Can you show a fake job, with help of frineds ? or can you stretch dates of old job and show you still working ?

how to go with it ?

he was trying to do his own business and also did some odd job on contract to take care of expenses, this happened for around 2 and half year, but now he wants to go for a job as business not working and money is reducing day by day, he have around 8 year of experience in bpo, from 2004 to 2012, but since 2012 to till a gap.

doing business is not crime right, but companies are very much biased to an unemployed guy, they consider them as a loser and not good for hire, hence if any way he can cover of hide gap, and show that he was actually doing something, so it may increase chances of hiring,

Thanks man, but the guy is a non technical person, living in Mumbai, aged 32 and married, anyway your offer is very tempting

Faking has a huge risk of getting caught in Background check. The very purpose of background checks is to catch fakes.

Its easier to defend/explain having a gap than explaining why one faked his experience, if he gets a change to explain in the first place at all.

Companies don't mind unemployed people because of immediate availability. many companies have urgent positions to fill up and will like the candidate to join within a week.

ask him to put the business he did in the resume.

i remember a guy who was so lucky, he worked in a company went to UK for training for 5 months, came back and found another job with almost double salary and good designation resigned in just 6 months coming back from UK, then again in new company worked for 3 years and got good salary and promotion, but cought downloading porn via torrent on office pc, got terminated from that company,

and he was so lucky that he had already given an interview in another company for more higher position, and just after loosing job, he got a new job offer with more salary and promoted designation, its just about timing and luck

but not all are that lucky,
