I have some couple of files which I need to burn on a cd/dvd and also I don't want anybody to view the files unless he enters some password or something like that. There are some friends of mine who may drop into my place and play my cd's so I want to maker sure that nobody is able to view the contents. Long back I heard about something called Gate Folder software. Is there any specific software which will help me with regards to this? I'm sorry if this question is too silly to ask.

But I want to create a folder having all these files and make the folder protected. Is it possible? Here I can create rar file for a file. I'm not sure if we can make the folder as well.

Have you Tried Folder Lock?
I Guess rar would be the best option.

If your dvd writer supports securdisc, you can use to password protect your data on dvds. LG H55N is one such drive.
