Kindly tell me how to save confidential information on my HDD. For example
by securing file or folder by password.

many applications are available that can lock folders or drive. If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, it has a build in feature to encrypt hard drives.

But be advised that if you, due to some reason, format your system (after saving these encrypted files in some other location), you will not be able to decrypt them..better decrypt the files and then save them at another location...
