my Laptop has been overheating A LOT(config in sigg)
so i have decided to open it up and clean the insides and re-apply thermal paste(fan works properly)
i found this "service manual" which shows how to open the laptop in question
so how should i go about it?there are unecessary things which are dissambled and i only want to reapply TIM and clean the processor fan
i'm planning on using this TIM(it is bundled with a old TIM cleaner too)

and what is a thermal pad? the manual says the laptop heatsink uses thermal pads
can i replace this thermal pad with fresh thermal paste.will it harm the processor?. because thermal pads are not available in india

just get Noctua NT-H1 - nothing better than this.

Thermal Compound/Paste works better for cpu/gpus compared to Thermal pads.

^Where can i get that?
a guy at TE told me this
It is necessary that you use a thermal pad. If there is no proper contact between the heatsink and the processor then you are in trouble. I dont think TIM would bridge that gap
is it really so? or will ONLY TIM do the job

^^ that's partially true and is good for VRM heatsinks where using thermal pads has it's own advantages but for cpu and it's heatsink thermal paste is a more viable solution IMO.

theitwares was selling Noctua NT-H1 at 600 bucks - ask them.
