hi guys once again i need ur advice on building a PC but this time its not 1 but 2. this is for my friend and his cousin, they both have varied budgets and preferences so here it goes. today i had been to SP road in bangalore and this is what i got from my regular dealer

BUILD-1 my friends cousin BUDGET - 35 K

1. What is the purpose of the computer?
basic pc with some minor gaming capabilities and i suggested him to get a pc which will be graphics card ready one with a nice cabinet and a PSU coz he can get a card later when his budget allows so this is NOT a decent gaming setup in any manner :razz: and one more thing he is hell bent on going for intel :p

1. What is the purpose of the computer?
MID RANGE GAMING. this should be an AMD build coz the pecs what he wants for the price is only possible through this route :)

ASUS P7H55MLX............................4300 None, as far as i've heard both intel original and asus motherboards are pretty poor. MSI and Gigabyte are the way to go.

cabinet CM 310 (model nt sure)........1650 There's only one elite 310 as far as i know. The only difference is the colour in models.

monitor samsung 22inch..................8450BenQ G2220HD @ 8k. Its cheaper and i've heard that samsung is having some stand problem.
altec lansing 4621...........................3250change to something cheaper if other things don't fir in budget.

Btw the gfx card and PSU are in the budget of 35k or the 6-7k is separate? Both of them will fit in 35k if you change to another speaker. Else a better config is possible for 35k excluding PSU and Gfx card.

AMD x4 955 BE............................7650 (any other suggestions )Good enough. Else change to core i5 750 which will exceed your budget.
Gigabyte 880GMA UD2H @ 5.5k
RAM Kingston DDR3 1333 2*2 GB.....4000 The difference between 1600 and 1333 is negligible with AMD
HDD 500GB SEAGATE 7200...........1900 (whats diff btwen 8,16,32 MB ???) I'd suggest WD caviar blue again. the difference is the amount of cache present in the HDD. More cache=More performance

I tried to pull strings to get maximum 22-25 k for cpu+gpu, but its too much work for me..
I'd like to see other users suggestion.

I missed out optical drive and speakers..oh well.

about 8,16,32 MB i suppose you are talking about HDD Cache..the cache is used by hdd to keep the data ready for processing and all..more the cache more data will it be able to keep ready and give for processing..

also avoid gx series of psus from cm.

few weeks back we purchased a 955be based config for my friend. MOBO + PROCCY = Rs 7700 + 4800 = Rs 12500. We had to go for this as he was not interested in buying a GFX card

i5 760 + DP55 = Rs 15300

Difference was Rs 2700. If going for a standalone GFX card, i think 955BE doesn't make sense any longer.

please specify the mobo n the first rig has been purchased but im still not sure about the second rig so i need lots of help :razz:

my suggestion will be that in the second rig i mentioned just replace msi twin frozr with Sapphire HD6870 @ 14.8k when it launches.
