I am planning to buy a good SATA2 Hard Disk. What is the best Hard Disk that I can Find within Rs 2700 ? Give me the model no of the HDD too.

u can get a 160gb sata hdd disk with transfer rate 300mb/s, this is an sata 2 technology

Buy a Seagate one with perpendicular recording. (7900.10 series if I remember correct) A 160 GB one is likely to cost much less than your budget.

hi guys i recently bought a new hard drive seagate barracuda 160gb ATA (ST3160215A) since my old hard drive 40 gb seagate had developed bad sectors.When i used the new drive everything works fine except that i cannot install Intel appliation accelerator.My motherboard is an intel 845gevb2.when i install intel application accelerator from the motherboard driver cd and after the system restarts the windows loading process never completes.Can u pliz help me out?

I think it would be your XP problem. Try to reinstall XP SP 2

I reinstalled winxp sp2 two times.It doenst help at all.By the way does seagate barracuda 160gb ATA (ST3160215A) support perpendicular recording?

Installing intel chipset inf files works fine but installing IAA halts the system(windows loading.... the 640*480 screen loading never completes).

i always had a backup of the motherboard cd n its just the same.ok anyway ill try 2 update the drivers.

first of all you dont need IAA for win xp sp2 as xp drivers correctly allocate dma to hdd

second problem could be your bios may not officially support 160 gb pata hdd ie in earlier 845 architecture 160gb hdds were not supported on 845 chipset

third fresh installation of xp
then first install latest chipset softwate from intel website for 845
second install graphics driver latest one
and dont install IAA


i can tell you all this as i have a old msi-845ge and a wd 160gb
