Dear friends,

My mother board is MSI MS6367. This mother board has a AGP Slot which supports only 4x 1.5V AGP card.

Can I use the graphics card GeForce FX 5200 from XFX whose specification is:-

Chipset:
GeForce FX 5200
Memory:
256 MB

Bus Type:
AGP 8X
Memory Type:
DDR

Memory Bus:
128-bit

DVI

Highlighted Features:
TV Out

If not which one will you suggest which offers pixel shader 2.0 and more which will suit my AGP slot

Please reply as fastly as possible so that I can buy the card.

Regards

Mention your budget and wrong place to post ur query, shud be here.. > *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13761&start=900

8X is backward compatible with 4X slots so there must be no problems in using it but I suggest u go for an upgrade if possible or buy a good card such as 6600 or iits GT version if budget allows...

Yes.Basically all 8X cards run in backwards compatibility mode and hence can be fit on a 4X Board. The voltage of 8X cards are at 0.8V whereas the 4X boards in your case can have a 1.5V.The card will fit and the voltage too can be handled(Though not all motherboards ensure perfect compatibility).AFAIK FX5200 Min requirements do have the 1.5V 4X compatibility.

System Requirements
IntelR® PentiumR® 4/III/II/Celeron™, AMD® K6/Duron™/Athlon®/Athlon XP® or compatible with AGP 2X (3.3V), 4X (1.5V), 8X (0.8v) or Universal AGP 3.0 bus configuration (2X/4X/8X).
Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000 or XP
64MB of system memory.
Monitor with 15Pin VGA Connector
Installation software requires CD-ROM drive.
DVD playback requires DVD drive.

So this card must run on your motherboard.:D
