GPU For 10k!

Please suggest a GPU for 10k max, from both camps.
From AMD camp I think 5770 takes the cake for VFM, how much is a 6850 now-a-days?
From nVidia, have GTX460 1GBs fallen to 10k yet?

This is a bit urgent, my friends 8800GT crapped out again, this time he's gonna upgrade.

System Specs:
Q6600, Asus P5KPL-AM/PS, 4GB Zion RAM(CL5), Cooler Master Extreme Power SMPS 600w(and he will not upgrade it).

He will keep this psu, so you can fire away anything you want, let him handle this issue, I've warned him 100 if not 1000 time about this.

6850 is better than gtx460 768mb and even gtx460 1gb

I have seen a cm extreme 600 handle a gtx 285 working perfectly for more than 2 years. So it can handle a 6850 easily if we take this fact in the equation.

At 10k, nothing beats radeon 6850. Get the cheapest version and sapphire card is very much rightly priced.

Yep, 6850 is the option to go for. But I guess within 2-3 weeks GTS 550 will pop up.

Tkin, even my suggestion is a Radeon HD 6850. The reasons are

1. It has very high over clocking potential. When in the hand of an advanced user, it can touch the HD 6870's base performance and I think u are an advance user.
2. At stock speed it performs slightly better than the GTX 460 1 GB model
3. It has better Tessellation performance compared to the older HD 5XXX series card.
4. The price 9.5 is a really sweet.
5. Even GTS 550 is coming, don't expect some miraculas performance for it. There were lot of speculation about GTX 560 also but as we all know it is just maximum 10% better performer than an older HD 6870.
6. Last but not the least, the support for Bluray 3D and 3D gaming.

Yep! It was 13k few months back! So @ 10.7k, total VFM now! I'm ordering one tomorrow!

Tough choice, its either the 6850 or the GTX460 1GB Cyclone, the 6850 looks right due to its lower power consumption(after all cm 600 is utter cr@p), on the other hand I've heard wonderful things about the clocking potential of cyclone.

If gtx 460 can ruin his system, so can 6850. They have a power difference of 30 watt or so at full stress i guess.
