if your father's primary usage will be calling, texting etc thn go for any Nokia phone & u need not to spend that much IMHO

If its for your dad id suggest you wait for the Nokia Lumia 710
Its a Windows Phone 7.5 powered Nokia phone with good spec.s. What more could you want?
