1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Crysis 3, BF 4, hitman absolution, SolidEdge for 3d Modelling

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 100k max

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:YES

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:Windows 7 or 8

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1TB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: 1080p 22" or higher with displayport may be 3d also if possible

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Mouse, keyboard and headphones

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: By the end of Aug 2013

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: yes i have built before

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:Bangalore. Open to all options

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Please make this rig as cost effective as possible.
Since i need to work on SolidEdge so i think i should go for Intel core i7 3770k or 4770k ( if thats wise to go for).
8gb ram to start with. RipjawsX or vengeance?
Liquid CPU coolers?
How about GTX 770? i know its only for gaming and i wont be needing a pro grade graphics card as of now.
Simple cabinet which i'd like to mod later on.
Multi Gpu in mind for the future.
Displayport monitor if possible a 120Hz one.
250 gb Velociraptor for OS drive?
UPS is needed.

1.Thats purely your choice ....AMD FX 8350 not bad either..
2.8GB?? go for 2*4 sticks but if you want to increase it further opt for single 8GB stick. IMO 8GB is good enough & you may not need more
3.If you choose AMD then CM 212Evo is nice. But for i7 a more solid solution is required
Thermalright Silver Arrow Dual 14cm Fan Cooler
If you really want Liquid cooling then
Corsair H100i Liquid CPU Cooler 120MM
NZXT Kraken X60 CPU Water Cooler

4.Go for HD 7970GHz instead
AnandTech | Bench - GPU13

5.no no no no. get at least a decent cabinet
6.Pls kick out the thought of MGPU setup. Its hassles are much more as compared to benefits
7.
8.Why velociraptor?? (Power Consuming, very hot) instead get a SSD

> TX850v2 is overkill IMO, though not sure. A 700 W PSU should be perfectly fine.

> Instead of H100i, get H80, its enough for overclocking the chip (correct me if I'm wrong).

> Instead of 500R, get CM 690 II Advanced, its a bit more spacious.

before you want to go for water cooling think if you can live with the fear of [rare] leakages. IMO, air coolers are pretty much enough for OCing upto 4.5GHz on the 8350.

and get a good cabinet. modding isnt as easy in india as it is abroad.

i think i will buy corsair ax 760. has good reviews.

Go for this only if MGPU setup is planned ahead... else a 600-650W is good enough
BTW AX 760 is only available here Buy Online Corsair AX Series AX760 760W - 80 PLUS Platinum Certified Fully-Modular - ATX Power Supply (CMPSU-760AX) in india

else you may go for Seasonic SS-860XP2 860 Watts PSU - Seasonic: Flipkart.com

lol dell s2240l does not have display port

@raj917 , go for any HP ZR series workstation monitors, you will get a display port with all of them or else you can also go for LA series Professional monitors but they might have limited options.
PS you cannot use cheap HDMI to display port converters, you will always have issue with them. Most sellers in SP road will not even know what display port is.

Well buddy AFAIK water cooling doesnt actually mean using H2O its some other fluid good enough for heat transfer
also what do you say for air coolers that are heavy enough to rip the motherboard apart

Although it is completely different matter that FX 8350 doesnt require a water cooling kit

most motherboards these days have a metal back plate and the PCB's not that fragile
