External Hard Disk Doubts

I have an external hard drive of Seagate 250GB and I want to format it to FAT32 for use with my PS3 Slim.......
Here are my Doubts-
Which software should i use to Format??
Is there any chance that this can ruin or decrease the performance of my Hard Disk??

You can use default windows utility from Device Management.

Follow this.

Right click on My Computer -> Manage -> Disk Management ->Right click on the External HDD -> Format & Select the Disk type from the drop down menu.
