but why u use Downloader for X??
have u tried wget??
its the best
If CLI scares you, gwget is the GNOME frontend for wget and Kget is the KDE front end. Dunno if Downloader for X is based on wget or not. I just stick to wget from CLI, it's easy enough and doesn't use much resources.

Btw tech_your_future - Any way to minimize a terminal window to a tray ?
Just login to another virtual terminal and continue there na. You have 6 such terminals there.

@Qwerty, just click on the minimize icon on the top-right of the Terminal Window.
Other options include press 'Alt + F9'. This will minimize it.

There is another Download Manager available called Aria.
It's also a good one. It's according to your preference @Thilina.
You can use Gwget, D4x, Aria ,wget etc.,

Yeah it worked .thanks guys

I think D4X is the best rather than Gwget
well wget is damm easy
to download a file just go to terminal type wget & just copy paste the d/l location using ctrl+c & crtl+shift+v
Code:
wget www.microsoft.com.vista/exe
can anything be more simple than that??

@Thilina, Here is the link for Aria. Download it from here.

NOTE: If you are using a Debian-based distro then you must convert the RPM package
to Debian format using the 'alien' command.
For eg.,
$ sudo alien <package>.extension

This will convert it to Debian format. Install it as you install a Debian package.

Newly designed patented url from MS vista can only access such kind of urls. Vista users will not be able to browse url's in current format. :p
Wonder what f that really came true
